Exceptional in every way

The course is in a condition that I honestly believe you will struggle to replicate on even the very best courses in the UK. Not notch facilities and made to feel exceptionally welcome. An absolute must.

Played the original 18 today and the course was looking stunning. Fairways and greens packed with grass and greens rolled very true. Enjoyed a lovely takeaway bacon sandwich before the round and a beer in the sun after which topped off the day. Definitely worth a visit.

Looking great after lockdown

Visited Matfen Hall G.C. (My home club) for first time since courses re-opened. Greens and fairways were looking great. Greens pretty much pitch mark free. Some tee boxes have been changed to allow for repair/ recovery. Rough has been cut to present more of a challenge in places. Shop open and you can order tea/coffee and snacks from the lodge. Great to be back

Must visit

Just had a good round and the dewlaw course was the first time I played it and it was fantastic. Course was in excellent condition and is well maintained. Also the staff are very friendly and polite and make you feel very welcome.

June outing in Northumberland

I'm bias as it's my ?home? course but can't speak highly enough. A 27 hole course that's both wide open and challenging. Peaceful, quiet, rolling countryside on a well maintained course. Can't think of a better place to enjoy hours of my thoughts and how to crack this game called golf. A pint and bite to eat afterwards was equally peaceful in the Keepers lodge.

Great course.

Great course, very enjoyable.
Play was slightly slow at times, course was busy today though.
Played it last week and we flew round..

Variety in a great setting

Love this course. With 27 holes it gives you the option of playing 3 different 18?s, obviously you play each nine twice but it in a different order each time it somehow feels different. Great value for money.

Keep going back

Since playing here back in October we keep returning for the silver deal. £25 for coffee and bacon roll, 18 holes on a good and challenging course and then a great one course meal. The staff are always helpful and friendly. As we are not members anywhere because we like to play different courses, we are struggling to find a better deal and course anywhere in the NE. Surprised how quiet it is but hey, suits us!!!

Pretty, open and fun course

Course was in great nick with high praise given to true, fast and undulating greens. Enjoyed the brooks that meander around and through the course. Lovely view on many holes of the country house.

Underrated Course

Good Course, the combination of having 3 separate 9 holes allows for more variance.

Rural course close to Newcastle

Matfen Hall GC is a 27 hole course, an excellent extension called Delaw to the original course, divided into Douglas (old out 9) and Standing Stone (old back 9). A variation of challenges with open wide Par 4/5?s so some testing Par 3?s. Love the course and never feels ?busy? with the three starting options.

Course was heavy, but understandable after the recent rain. Always a great place to play, and the food is superb. Love it.

Always Enjoy my round at Matfen

Even though the ground was soft the fairways we clear and the greens in great condition. Easy to book and staff could not be more friendly. Great course.
