Didn't play well, lost quite a few balls either on or just off the fairway in silver birch leaves - big tip - play a coloured ball in the autumn! Best holes are the links ones on the other side of the road, parkland holes are a bit boring.

Played last week and thoroughly enjoyed. Since my junior days this course has been the stuff of nightmares. I'd never played well there and the beast was toying with me so the other day i decided to go along and tame the bugger.
I was -2 after 7 holes after bogeying the 1st (a tricky par 3) so it was all looking good. -1 through the turn and the it happened. The 10th. Dont push off the tee i told myself. I didn't. I sliced it right out, grrr. However, after regaing composure and letting my golf bag know whos boss with a 7 iron, i stedied the ship and finished +1 to my handicap. I didnt so much as tame the beast but i slapped it in the face and ran away!
Greens were of typical maesdu standard which i pretty good, course was in good order. Good food and good ale to boot. Very busy there aswell for a thursday. Slow play was a slight issue but if a course is busy (good to see) so be it. Take time and enjoy it, which is exactly what i did.
