Following a weekend of heavy rain, greens were slower than I expected but running true, and mostly consistent (I'm sure a couple of greens were slower that most). Fairways looked very good for this early in the year. Some changes to the course has left my yardage book out of date, and they don't have a new one yet, so I had the wrong club in hand a few times. Only visited one bunker, but they all seemed well stocked with sand, and well maintained.
As a guest of the Bedfordshire Past Captains Society I didn't have to pay, but the food was everything they promised, and the round was at a comfortable pace. There are a few points on the course where tees/greens (and even adjoining fairways) are a little close, so keep vigilant, and if anyone does shout 'fore' be aware. The course itself is quite tight (especially the last 2 holes) so go for straightness rather than length - it'll save you a lot of shots!
Overall a nice course and I'm looking forward to coming back.

Wow, Is all I can say. The course was in great condition. After seeing it was a private members club, I was astounded with the friendly welcome from the other members, even the juniors!!! Back to the golf however, very challenging!! The course from the scorecard is easy but hell no is it in real life!! Most holes are tight, requiring excellent thinking. The fairways were much improved compared with the other year or so I played the course. The greens were lightning, probably around 10-10.5 which on a wet day, in winter-ish is astounding!! The 11th is incredible, one of the best par 3's I have played in my long life!! The food was excellent in the clubhouse with decent prices for a private members club. However, the best part of the experience, were the staff. The pro shop were extremely helpful, notifying me of any changes to the course planner. The prices were astounding and the general feel was great. His name was Wayne I think( South African), the pro there, he was excellent and was extremely helpful with meeting my picky needs. So everall, a truly hidden gem for the time of year, played Woburn 2 days ago. And for less than half the price, way more than half the enjoyment, would definitely recommend to anyone, especially if they can hit it straight!!!

The total walk is over 7000 yards, even though the course is around 6000. It's also not the flattest of courses, and I found it quite tiring. Some changes have been made to a number of holes to lengthen the course, but we were back to playing the original 18 holes for this County Seniors competition.
Some very tight holes (especially the 17th). and quite small greens, which were a fairly consistent pace, apart from where the greenkeepers had tried out their new "green iron" just in front of our competition round.
Bunkers seemed to have plenty of soft new sand in them.
Generally speaking a decent test of golf for such a short course.

Very good, well kept course. Several holes where other holes shoot over the top which can catch you out. Lack of yardage markers makes approach shots a bit of a guess. Excellent shop and good coaching facilities.

Lovely course
Course was in good condition despite the hot weather we have had. Greens had been hollow tined recently so unfortunately a bit slow (but this has to be done so just unfortunate to play when they were a tad slow) Balcony overlooking 10th tee and 18th green is good to sit and enjoy a drink after play. Would definitely recommend playing here. Very friendly members and great food here.

Played this course for the second time only, in a Society day. Course seems to be in good order. Greens were quite quick and consistent speed, but were a little hard (very rare to leave a pitch-mark). Bunkers had plenty of sand in them, although some needed raking. There are ditches which proved to be a challenging distance off the tees, but this appeared to be down to the windy conditions on the day we played. Could have done with a yardage book to know when to lay up and when to go for it. The pro shop told us they were still using preferred lies, although the fairways seemed to be in good enough order for this not to be needed - certainly, most of our party of 24 did not feel the need. As it is a hotel course, the breakfast was a buffet which you could help yourself to, so suited those with a large or small appetite! We have our 'presentation' after the event, and there were some members watching football in the TV in the golf bar, so a little difficult to get us all together for prize giving (ended up with half of us standing).

Very tight and interesting course, lots of memorable holes. Greens receptive, friendly pro. A real premium on placing your tee shot, need to play here more than once to get the best out of it. \Fairways have really suffered in the dry spell, more than anywhere else I’ve seen which is surprising given how tree lined it is. 12-16 are obviously a late addition to the rest of the course and are very out of character. Someone forward thinking needs to be getting some sensibly placed saplings laid out.\Despite that, it’s a lot of fun and extremely underrated on here, will be back

Played as a guest of Bedfordshire County, and played from the back tees. Not a very long course, but trees are mature, and apart from a couple of very tight holes, this is a course I usually enjoy playing. Some tees are close to greens, so expect some shouts of 'fore'. Greens were quick and true, although they had some very heavy rain which closed the course 2 days before we played, so it would be worthwhile checking before you book that the course is fully open. Nice layout, but with a couple of fairly long walks between greens and the next tee.

Just played here today and was astounded with the condition of the course. In Winter (still) the greens were reading around a 10 on the stimp and holding up extremely well. Fairways could still need a sprinkling of grass on but with winter rules in force, as long as you found the fairway, you could never get a bad lie! I did not experience any chris kross holes ecept the 9th which luckily was no problem as there was no group behind. The 11th, WOW is all I can say... Still made a 5 on it but that was due to the undulating green!! Would definitely recommend the course, I didn't get to check out the bar and food, but looking at the outside of the clubhouse, I would assume the quality was as high as the course was. The pro shop had a fair price and the pro there was extremely helpful. Think his name was Wayne? Great chap, he informed me of any changes made to the course, including the alterations to the yardage book. Overall, would recommend to anyone!!!!

I've played this course 3 times: twice after heavy rain and once when it was 1*C. The greens stood up very well as did most of the fairways.
A great variety of holes with plenty of elevation changes, blind tee shots, short par 4s.
There is some areas where common sense is needed with tees placed very close to greens of other holes, such as the 8th and 9th.
I like this place so much, I joined!

Very nice parkland course, accuracy is needed from the tee as fairways are tight and positional tee shot is required. Has some great holes that need thinking about.

The overall day was excellent, but the lack of information on the course changes made last year is disappointing. Having asked if a course planner was available, one was purchased. However, this did not show the changes to the holes from 12 through to 18, and no warning of this was given in the proshop when it was bought

Awful and dangerous course with balls flying around your head on the first three/four holes. Poor greens, cramped fairways with very high trees and expensive. Wouldn't play here again.

Very Helpful friendly members, nice woodland course , only faults are two tee shots that are played straight over greens in front of tee. £40 green fee a bit stiff.
