Reviewed May 24 2012

Hadn't played the course for a few years and there have been several positive changes to the course and venue; different yellow tee box placements on the 7th and 12th, several new or altered sand traps (however, there is still insufficient sand), numerous previously small and blue staked trees now come into play and make the 1st and 18th tee shots more demanding and the biggest change of all; a new driving range to go with the pre-existing practice putting and chipping areas. The greens rolled well and were consistently paced (not the quickest but not slow). The rough was a little thicker than I remember and the fairways needed a cut, but we've had quite a lot of wet weather over the last few months. Having said that, I know the Hobson was prone to 'water logging' and I only saw one patch of water on the course, a lot of praise has to go the greenkeepers for the improved drainage work they've obviously carried out.One negative is that the Pro-shop is closing down (don't know if club is planning on appointing a new Pro, when Jack hangs up his spikes)
