Whickham Golf Club
Whickham's course has been developed on rolling hillside and has to be one of the most attractive courses in the North of England. The panoramic views over the Derwent Valley, Tyneside and beyond are simply stunning. It's not a course for teeing up and testing modern day equipment..... the emphasis here is on accuracy rather than length and your ability to get into position to leave the easiest shot to the green. Best and most challenging course (Ramside came 2nd but the greens were atrocious there in April) we have played this year by far in the society, Very challenging with lots of dog-legs, gullies, slopes, deep trees. Wil be back for sure!

Challenging course. Very picturesque, especially on the back nine. When I played (25 April) many of the greens, especially on the front nine, were in a poor condition and very patchy. Possibly due to the severe winter weather. Tees and fairways were in great condition.

Fantastic course. Greens in great condition and a real test. We went up as part of a tour party of 21 and although they had cocked the booking up they still managed to accomodate us with suitable tee times and food at short notice.
