Played here in March 2012. We found this a very tight course were club selection off the tee does need some thinking about. Unforchantly there were some mats in play which was a pity it was a cracking sunny day and the course was in good condition, it was noticed members were alowed on the tees but not societys. My favorite hole was the par 3, 7th lovely site of the green from above with water to the right and a ditch to clear. There were some tees crossing other holes which i dont like and slowed up the play on a busy day. but overall a good day, a nice course but a little short.
The clubhouse and food was fabulous and we had a very warm welcome.

Played here for the first time in their Open Competition. First impressions were very favourable - lovely looking course with clubhouse/patio set above a couple of the tees. It is a true parkland setting, much lusher than any other course that I have played through this dry summer. In my opinion, holes 1-10 are better than the remainder with great views from some - number 7 is a lovely downhill par3 with stream and pond awaiting any mishit shot whilst number 10 is a short dogleg with the drive up a very steep "cardiac hill". Greens were in good condition but relatively slow - bunkers very good with lovely quality sand - fairways mixed, some great some not. The course is very conveniently located just 5 minutes from the M5 motorway (J 17). My Sausage Sandwich was served with a dressed salad - now there's a sign of quality for you. Great value at £15 - the Comp, not the Sausage Sandwich!

One of my regular playing partners is one of the greenkeepers at this course, so I'm biased about the course condition, but as a member's only course you definately get what you pay for. It's a bit old school with the long drive to the clubhouse and storage area for member's clubs, and when I play there I can't help get the feeling that my playing credentials are being scrutinised - that said though, the leafy surroundings more than make up for any snobbery.
The clubhouse overlooks the 10th tee and putting green, and the pro-shop isn't too shabby.
Overall it's a nice course to play every now and then, but you'd expect it to for the membership rates. Only £18 for member's guests though which represents good value for money.
