Very challenging course to play. Once all of the bunkers have been renovated this course will be a must to play again.

Challenging course with excellent layout. Lots of work being done on the bunkers at the moment meaning that many were GUR. Some fairways were also a bit ropey.

Course could be very good lots of work being done to the bunkers so had 3 temporary greens. Was not made aware of this attending the course. Still an enjoyable experience

Was really looking forward to this as I'd heard of the course but never actually played it and now I have, I'm not sure what to think. It's a wonderful layout don't get me wrong, with some really good holes, and no doubt it would be a real challenge off the back tees but we were off the front blue tees unfortunately and it was a bitterly cold Jan day.
I'm not sure what the grounds staff and green keepers are up to currently but there clearly is a lot of work going on as there was heavy plant working on the first and we teed off over 100 yds ahead of the normal tee box but still as a par 5 even though it was a drive followed by a 9 iron for a 404yd gift eagle!
The big thing you begin to notice quite quickly is the apparent number of GUR bunkers too. It feels like a 3rd of the courses bunkers are GUR, why I have no idea. There's that feeling to the course that it is desperately in need of some TLC. The tee boxes, distance markers on the tee boxes are barely visible down to the bins, water hazard posts and Tarmac link paths etc etc.
It really just seems like a bit of a shame as all the way round I was thinking, I bet in its day, this would have been sensational. You should never be a player thinking that all the way around a course. God knows what the members think to the current very tired look.
They either need a huge cash injection for the greens keepers or the keepers need a rocket up their XXXXX. What a shame.
Played Jan 5th. Handicap 3.6 Par 72 Round 74.

Potentially a very good course however the weather had played its part in deteriorating the fairways. All bunker GUR which was a bit disappointing considering the price

Not very well looked after, many bunkers GUR. Greens had just been done for summer so were slightly bumpy.

Had an absolute shocker of a day but still found the course to be enjoyable, though in poor condition in a few places. Think Sir Nick has over-cooked it with the bunkers truth be told but it is a nice, undulating layout.

Nice track, but £70 each and a 3 hour back nine due to a society. No marshall on the course to hurry them on either and then a poor excuse from the club dismissing the delay.

Have played this course a few times over the past few years, often on corporate hospitality. Find the course is a little gimicky with so many bunkers and the layout and test is spoilt if you play off the yellows which are way ahead of the white tees.
Last time I played here was as a two-ball and we caught up with a 3-ball that had started an hour and a half before us. They were being held up by two groups (more corporate guys) who had no etiquette. Considering the cost to play we were amazed there were no martials to move things along.
All told, quite disappointing.

Very interesting course, well kept, not the most difficult of courses but plenty of sand and water to provide a challenge but nevertheless well laid out and my best course played to date in Kent. Greens are fast. Better value for money and more interesting than the London Club (International).
