Meridian's new owners have all kinds of plans to improve the course and clubhouse but after a year ownership hardly anything has changed. The bunkers are still almost without sand, the greens terribly slow and damaged, the fairway are just playable bit it all looks rather poor. Practise facilities have new range balls but mats are ancient, no chipping or pitching on a practise green available and the same has to be said for the practise bunker which has more stones in it than a gravel. In short, the course layout is very nice and well established but not worth the membership money.

great course

This is a fantastic course. Every hole is a challenge, and there are only 2 r 3 soft holes on the course. The Par 5s are all fantastic, each of them a different challenge -- 3 are doglegs, and one is up hill and then down dale. Bunkers and creeks are strategically placed, and 10 or 11 of the holes have tricky water hazards. The greens are excellent too.

All in all a fantastic golf test, difficult for mid to high handicappers like me, but a really great day out. Great bar, too, and great driving range and putting green.

Will be coming regularly.

Well designed course

Flat terrain but plenty of hazards and trees to navigate around. Greens in good condition and play true.

Always playable and in good condition

Great mix of short and long and doglegs left and right to be a challenge for the mid-handicappers amongst us. Good facilities, friendly and helpful staff and very decent food and beer.

Pick your way Round

Really enjoyed the course. Not really a place for the driver (I ran out of fairway a few times but that’s my fault) and the many dog-legs does mean that longer irons are needed to reach the green. Greens were true and very receptive. Not too fast.

The clubhouse was very friendly. Breakfast was uninspired. Just 1 sausage, egg, bacon and toast for £7.95. No mushrooms, tomatoes, beans or hash browns or tea.

Paid £23 for the round with county card. Scored 87 (15 handicap). Would definitely like to play again.

In the heart of the country side

Great course with good challenging holes. Has water hazards, dog legs and burns , water courses alongside and across fairways. The course is currently in good condition and the rough has been kept trimmed to make it challenging but playable., allowing play to continue at a reasonable pace. The club house is clean and tidy with views over the pond and a terrace for eating outside on a nice day, Staff are friendly and helpful.

course is looking good

From the well manicured tee's along the nicely cut fairways leading to the well kept greens the Meridian is looking in great condition and a pleasure to play.
Twilight rounds start at 13:00hrs and are a bargain at £18.

Played this course several times before. Always in decent condition, today was probably the best I have seen. Not that I did it justice.
