Very pretty and challenging course
Had read stories that this was a tough place to play the stories are not wrong! Lovely course well maintained and one would definitely benefit if having played before. Great views across the countryside too once you get on top of the hill.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 103 Handicap: 20)

Undulating heathland challenge
There are some very challenging holes especially in the wind we played in. I'm looking forward to returning and playing again in the summer when the conditions have improved. Some fairways were still recovering from the summer drought and the greens were surprisingly slow. One hole was closed due to course improvements but hole 9b was in play. The team in the pro shop were very friendly and extremely helpful. Broadstone has a very well stocked pro shop. The clubhouse was having renovations but that didn't disturb us too much. Overall, a great golf club but the playing surfaces need improvement.Reviewer Rating

Long, difficult and unforgiving.
Playing off 18 this course was never going to be easy. You have to hit a long drive and your approach shots need to be precise otherwise the bunkers await you. Despite the challenges I really enjoyed my round once I had got the first couple of holes under my belt. Some holes are played blind so try to play with someone who is familiar with the course. The fairways and greens are superb, in fact some of the grass just prior to the greens are better than most greens at other courses. The speed of the greens was comparable to other local courses which was a bonus for me. Getting a birdie on the 15th topped off my day when my 18ft putt dropped in the hole. I look forward to another opportunity to play this course in the not too distant future.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 98 Handicap: 16.8)

Stunningly scenic heathland course
Broadstone always ranks high in many top 100 course listings and it definitely deserves its place. It is a stunningly scenic heathland course, spread out across a very expansive heathland area. No two holes are the same and work is underway to restore all the bunkering to the original Harry Colt designs. It requires some straight hitting as the rough/ heathland areas are hard to play from. Approaches to the greens are often very exacting so you need to be on your game to score here. It is also a very hilly course so the walk is strenuous. The only disappointing aspect of the course were the greens, which are undergoing a 3-4 year transitional process from meadow grass to poanna grass. This means the greens are inconsistent in speed and not particularly smooth. If you can overlook this, you will find a first class golf course.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 83 Handicap: 4.1)

Sweeping heathland
Really good course sweeping up and down through heathland. Great views around 7,8 and 9. Tough in the wind, rain and hail but enjoyable. Five is an enjoyable short par four: with trouble both sides on the tee shot, followed by a great par three. The approach on 7 could be 200 yards over a large heather canyon; there is also a lay up option down in the canyon before the heather. Another cavern comes into play at the front left of the 13th. I had around 190 in here and was suckered into it: the second shot is a tough one here, with the green appearing narrow: you need to stay right. 14 is a good hole: a downhill tee shot followed by an uphill approach with bunkers at the front; tricky approach as you cannot see the bottom of the flag. Course has great flow.Reviewer Rating
