What the club says: Blackwell Golf Club was founded in 1893 by five men, four prominent local businessmen and the other the local curate from St Catherine's Church in Blackwell. The original course was built on part of the Hewell Grange Estate, owned by Viscount Windsor, and a local golf professional C W Cunningham was commissioned, for a fee of £1.5s.0d, to plan the original nine hole lay-out.
Today - Blackwell is a traditional English mature parkland course measuring 6283 yards from the white tees with a par of 70 (sss.71).

Course was over rated, greens were terrible, fairways were like rough, the clubhouse was old and tatty also the people weren\'t welcoming. The green fees were too expensive and I don\'t think I\'ll be playing again. Score: 75 hcp: 7.1

Excellent course rated in the top 100 in England , heavy due for the first 9 holes and sun came out for back 6 holes - superb course and very quiet . Awesome day at Blackwell

Condition excellent. However, a very humdrum course. You have to hit a truly awful shot to possibly lose a ball. A good course for the higher handicap player who wants a course to themselves. PS the clubhouse was very tired and tatty.

Played on lovely autumn day, course was in excellent condition and greens were very good. Played as part of their Winter offer, which is very good value for money. Would definitely look to play again in Spring.

Nothing special was expecting so much more, really dated clubhouse and not the most friendly of welcomes, course was ok but certainly doesn't justify the green fee

Amazing. We played a corporate event (I don't know how easy it is to get on otherwise), but it was first class; tee boxes, fairways-excellent, greens - probably the best I've played on. Fantastic course

Absolutely fabulous, immaculate course. For those who know it I would say it has some close similarities to Bearwood Lakes in Berkshire with some beautiful tree lined fairways in places. With my county card I payed £60 for a day ticket and fitted in 3 rounds nicely (and still got home to bath the kids!) It is a lovely course AND what made it extra special was the people. I fully expected 'snooty' people for such a plusg course (only 180 memebers so very quiet) but everyone I met was so nice, the fellow playerd; the club secretary (Finlay) couldn't have been more friendly showing me personally to the washrooms, coming to see me after my round to see how I enjoyed it. The pro shop (Dan) and bar staff were all really super. Even a ladies four-ball stopped by for a chat. This was probabaly the nicest day's golf I have had in 20 years playing. I'm dying to get my best golfing buddies to come along next time. (Round played: Jun 2014 - Score: 86 Handicap: 19)

A gentlemens club with a golf course attached .As a guest of a member I was unable to spend money there and noted a wonderful difference in facilities between members and visitors facilities. The limited membership gives an exclusive air to the place and a feel of millionaires golf. The course is typical of a greenbelt affluent area course of the 60-£70 range, very decent but largely lacking memorable holes bar a U shaped par 5 and a scary final shot to a green uncomfortably near the clubhouse windows. The pleasure of the place is the stepping back in time ambience . Green fees with a member were peppercorn for the offering. Hcp 5
