Very enjoyable day, staff were very friendly, my only gripe was I brought a pint of beer for my friend, I had a Shandy and was charged £4.50. Same price as a beer. A pint of Shandy should not be the same price. It is the little things that matter.Enjoyed the course.Coring at the moment.Reviewer Rating

A little gem...
From 2pm it is £15 to play this course and for that price you cannot complain. The greens were a bit off but that's because they were being treated and that's fair enough, shows the course gets looked after. The course is fairly laid out, me and my partner did get lost a couple of times with a local player having to tell us where to find the 16th tee. Overall it's a fun challenging course with great facilities. What more do you want.Reviewer Rating

Fair but challenging
Blacknest is a really good course. We play as a group of high handicappers and the fairways off the tee give you every chance. There is water in play on several holes but in the majority of instances, you can play around any obstacles. Staff very customer friendly and environment welcoming.Reviewer Rating

Monday Evening Fun
Took the opportunity to play 9 holes on a lovely evening. The reception in the pro shop was super friendly. The course dry but in good condition and we had a fun evening - particularly being a little rusty!Reviewer Rating

Would NOT recommend
Played on the 13th sep. greens were in terrible condition, almost felt unmaintained and the course layout was really odd and felt a bit micky mousey. Not good value for money and really annoyed we weren’t made aware of the state of the course and offered a discount. I personally would not play again or recommendReviewer Rating

Enjoyable round.
I’ve played this course several times before as a golfer who hasn’t played in a number of years and am finding my feet again. This could is forgiving with a good few challenges and some really nice holes. Generally, the course is well kept but there are a few areas under repair and a few tee boxes are showing signs of a busy summer but nothing that would put me off returning as the fairways are in a good condition and play very nicely. An enjoyable round.Reviewer Rating

Poor condition even for the money
Have played a few times over the last 4-6 months with friends who are just getting into golf as it is one of the cheaper courses locally. However, even £15 for 9 holes on a twilight tee time feels difficult to justify with the state of the greens and tee boxes... Found myself assuring my friends that “most courses are in much better condition”.Nice enough staff and has some pretty holes which I do enjoy, it really is a shame!

Very disappointed
Played Blacknest a week ago having booked 4 tee times for 16 players. The greens were dreadful. At least 5 of them had GUR patches and 1 green had the a GUR patch all the way through... so you couldn’t drop in a logical place. Worst of all, none of this was mentioned to me when booking and no discount rate was offered. In fact on the day, the pro said the greens had been worked on recently and we’re now fine. A compete lie. Every course I have played in the past would admit to the condition of the course and offer a discount, especially to a group. Seems they wanted money more than good reputation or repeat custom.Reviewer Rating

Disappointing
Played yesterday evening (20 August) and was was surprised by how bad the greens and tees were. The weather was beautiful, and I know it rained a lot the day before, but of the 14 holes we managed to play, the majority had areas on either tees or greens which were bare of grass and had GUR areas marked on them. The tees generally are exceptionally uneven making it hard to find a good place to tee from. This is a shame as there had been a lot of work done on the course and it had really improved. It is also frustrating that this type of information is not openly given out when booking, with maybe discounts given due to the poor condition. It is like buying a nice product only to find you have a b-grade/ex-demo item rather than a new one.Reviewer Rating

Nice course, a lot of holes are very challenging , good set up and well spaced out between Tee off times.Greens could have been better as very patchy and looks like some other golfers don't repair pitch markes but that's not the course fault. All in all a very good course to play and will go back again
