Long, well kept course
My friend and I have played at Barkway a number of times over the years and played there in December 2021 on a very cold and windy day. The course is a long one (6600 yards off the yellows) and was made longer to walk by the roping off of many of the walkways between holes. It's probably because of measures like this that the course was in good condition so we didn't mind. The greens here have always been good and this time was no exception. We didn't stay for food on this occasion but we would come back here again.Reviewer Rating

A good challenge
A challenging course with a friendly atmosphere,club pro very helpful.Defiantly worth a visit at a very good price for a round of golf.
They have this week changed some of the holes stroke index,so that has helped make things interesting.

Pleasant course in the Hertfordshire countryside
Nice course, a little out of the way near the village of Barkway. Long course with good greens but fairly long grass on the fairways. Mostly very friendly but did come across a couple of arrogant bullies in buggies. Cheapest green fees I have come acrossReviewer Rating

Course played well only trouble was quite windy. The greens have been in better condition but to be honest for a cheap round of golf you couldn't find much better than here. I will return again

Wide open course, mainly flat. I thought it looked good, especially for the time of year. Credit for the greens which were excellent. There are good deals to be had and playing as visitors we were warmly welcomed. Very good day.

A very challenging day with a cold north-easterly wind of 10mph plus, according to BBC weather. The course very well dried out though, as usual with courses following winter, the fairways a bit uneven and the greens even running though a bit scrappy. Just observations, not criticisms. Very welcoming and helpful. Players on the course nice as well. All in all a very good afternoon and we will be going back again during the spring and summer. Very good value for a tenner.

Great condition
Hidden away in Hertfordshire, nice course in great condition considering the weather we have had, firm fairways well kept greens. A very long course, friendly staff and a very reasonable price. Will definitely return.Reviewer Rating
