The Best Delta Hotels by Marriott Golf Resorts

By: Liam Moore | Thu 31 Aug 2023

The alluring climate of travelling abroad for golf trips is certainly enticing, but the quality of the golf courses is what ultimate draws us to these destinations.

Whilst Spain and Portugal are littered with tremendous options, UK-based golfers are fortunate that we have a series of first-class facilities positioned within our shores.

Delta Hotels by Marriott epitomise the sort of quality we are talking about; the chain has six locations dotted around the United Kingdom.

Below, we provide information on all six resorts and summarise why every ardent golfer should experience their charm.

Delta Hotels by Marriott, St Pierre Country Club

St Pierre

St Pierre Country Club is situated in Newport and the grand resort is sprawled across 400 acres of breathtaking Monmouthshire countryside. Guests will be staying in a 14th-century manor house that contains more than 130 bedrooms. All rooms within the 4* hotel feature modern amenities and 24-hour room service for late night snacking. There are two fabulous golf courses attached to the premises - The Old Course and The Mathern Course. The latter boasts a terrific challenge, having previously hosted the Solheim Cup; the alternative layout includes a slightly more forgiving design, but water comes into play on a selection of holes.

Delta Hotels by Marriott, Tudor Park Country Club

Tudor Park

Tudor Park Country Club is another well respected Delta Hotels by Marriott venue, this time in Kent. The resort is home to more than 120 lavishly decorated bedrooms that feature modern amenities that you would expect from a 4* hotel. Additional activities such as a spa and fitness facilities are also available on the premises. There is only one golf course associated with the site, but it is a good one. Donald Steel was enlisted to design the enticing layout and it previously hosted multiple PGA EuroPro Tour events. With varying tee shots and miniature greens, make sure you bring your A game if you wish to depart with a respectable score.

Delta Hotels by Marriott, Worsley Park Country Club

Worsley Park

Manchester is the location for Worsley Park Country Club, which is an esteemed golf course that draws the attention of golfers all year round. An additional bonus of staying here is its close proximity to the bustling city centre of Manchester. More than 150 guestrooms are available for renting, all of which offer the amenities needed for you to fully enjoy your stay. Again, there is only one golf course here but the parkland championship routing will ensure you draw on all your experience as a golfer. The routing boasts eight lakes and 71 strategically placed bunkers for you to avoid. Tremendous practice facilities round off what is an incredible experience.

Delta Hotels by Marriott, Breadsall Priory Country Club

Breadsall Priory

The Breadsall Priory Country Club is located in the East Midlands and the resort enjoyed a £1.8 million refurbishment in 2013. Guests will be staying in the beautiful Grade II listed 13th-century building that effortlessly combines rich history and modern luxury. More than 100 rooms are available to guests, with 12 larger suites to accommodate bigger parties. Golfers will have the option of either the Priory Course or the Moorland Course - maybe even if you’re feeling adventurous! The Priory is the more challenging of the two and extends to 6,120 yards from the tips; higher handicaps will enjoy the Moorland more but be aware of the fearsome rough and contoured greens.

Delta Hotels by Marriott, Forest of Arden Country Club

Forest of Arden

The Forest of Arden Country Club is home to one of the greatest golf courses to be situated in England, which prompted a visit from the Clutch Pro Tour during the 2023 season. Based in Warwickshire, the hotel boasts more than 200 guestrooms, which have been designed in a luxurious manner. Two golf courses are located on site, but the Forest of Arden Golf Course is rightfully the championship routing and subsequently draws the most interest. However, the alternative Aylesford Course is an enjoyable test of golf - although it is shorter in length.

Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club

Hanbury Manor

Hanbury Manor is situated in Hertfordshire and the on site golf course is sprawled across 200 acres of stunning Hertfordshire parkland. A collection of 161 rooms is available for renting, all of which feature modern amenities. Hanbury Manor previously hosted the English Open, which highlights the quality of the Jack Nicklaus II designed layout. The difficult setting is in line with European Tour standards, as there are multiple steep slopes and difficult greens to contend with. The condition of the putting surfaces deserves special mention as they are among the very best to be located within the area.

Delta Hotels by Marriott is one of the most successful golf course and resort operators to be based in the UK.

Golfbreaks can offer trips to all six resorts, where larger parties would qualify for additional incentives.
