Lovely weather
Ground very boggy but then that’s to be expected, greens are fast and getting better after the disease, all in all a pleasant round, I’m sure within the next few weeks once the ground has dried up the course will be back to its best, according to the app I use the 150 markers on some of the holes are as much as 20 yards out.(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 45 Handicap: )

Course is ok
The course is actually playing quite well considering how boggy the course is, greens are in such good condition compared to a few years ago and at this time of the year, too many players are still leaving pitch marks especially on the par 3 6th, a good little course for the price. Considering the course conditions I had a good round and my mate Nigel played well also.(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 40 Handicap: )

Course is looking good
Played 2 rounds of 9, first 9 not too good but pleased with the second 9, scored 45 and 41, the greens are so much better than ever before, Neil your a genius, I would still like to see the post markers for 100 and 150 mtrs, it would be so much easier to see them, the ones on the floor are not so visible, luckily I have got a rangefinder, no point in practicing and learning your distances if you can't see how far away you are, a big thanks too all really, course is becoming a little gem.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 45 Handicap: )

New Ownership.
This has been my local course since I could first hold a club however I'd never shout about it being my favourite course for a few reasons. However the course is now under new ownership and I couldn't imagine better people for it! They've improved the course no end already and from what they have been promising it's going to just keep getting better. Lovely people too.The only major downside at the minute is the fact there is no clubhouse (due to a fire a few years back).

Sadly the course does seem to attract a few people who seem to struggle with pace of play issues, sharing a bag of clubs is a common sight there, as are single players dawdling along playing more than one ball.
Playing through seems to be a foreign concept, and as the club gets busier as it improves, I would imagine the management will have to take measures to address these, and one or two on course safety issues.
This said, good luck to Barlborough golf club, it's good to see a local course on the up for a change.

Latest addition is a new reception and cafe facility which is due to open soon and will be a most welcome improvement.
Course is looking better and better, greens much improved on previous years, and drainage, an age old problem, is now improving as work is completed.
Just a review of the bunkering and some tidying of the tees and detailing should see Barlborough back to its original condition, and it's good to see the club getting busier and receiving some support from the Derbyshire golfing community.
Let's hope it's the start of better times for golf in Barlborough.
