Had a very enjoyable walk around Gatyon Manor only spoilt when I attempted to play golf!!!!!!
Usually play the course a couple of times a year usually in the summer (bit wet in the winter). Every aspect of the course is well maintained and a real credit to the greenkeeper and the team. Course has been tidied up a lot since last year with ponds cleared and new bridges The green when we played were amongst the best played this year, like Augusta on speed!!!!! (I am a golfing nomad so get around a lot in Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey), probably only rivalled by Chiddingfold, where the greens are kept a bit longer and hold better.
The 6th hole has to be one of the most difficult around.
Only marked down on the hotel facilities that are looking a bit tired. However changing rooms and showers very good.
As a golf course and a test of golf one of the best in the South East.

A very well looked after woodland course with nice tight fairways and very quick greens with some challenging pin positions.

Played 9 holes yesterday evening for a great price, the course was in good condition with the greens running quick. Never get bored of playing this course! the 7th par 3 being my favourite hole with a tough shot with trees over hanging on the right but a lot of danger if you go too far left.

Course in great nick, very tight and long so not ideal for beginners but an excellent test for mid to low handicappers.

Had the pleasure of playing GM twice in recent weeks. I have to say that as a 'nomadic' golfer these days the course was the best I have played for a very long time. There are some quirky holes that need a bit of thinking about (not my forte on the golf course normally). Worth having a course map or Your GPS with you as distances can be deceptive.
Fair amount of water and ditches to be aware of. Greens were immaculate and apart from a couple were very consistent in terms of speed. The greens can be tricky to read as well. You are well advised to leave yourself uphill putts!!!
Catering at the halfway hut is on par as well and the bar in the hotel offers reasonably priced bar fare.
Worth a trip.

Lovely course which is challenging in places. Got a great deal on hotel with 2 rounds of golf and dinner for £89 per person
