A truly beautiful course with amazing looking and well kept greens. Makes me want to work for John Lewis just to play here! Really good value for guests of members as well. Some of the members were a bit stuffy (but staff were not) but ignoring them one of the nicest courses in the Berkshire/Hampshire area

Play this course!
Course was in superb condition considering the recent weather, nice wide-open fairways, greens were fast. Members and staff were very friendly and helpful, (except for the barman - miserable)Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course
The only reason the practice facilities received a very good is the lack of a range. The course is superbly kept and the greens were immaculate for this time of year. The staff were incredibly friendly and the course is a challenge and varied nicely.Reviewer Rating

This is a real beauty of a colf course, tricky to score well at due to the undulations and sloping fairways and lightning fast greens. On the day the course and greens were in fantastic condition and the deep rough had been trimmed which helped, a real joy to play there.

Great location with amazing views over the Thames valley but I didn't enjoy the course, there were far too many blind shots, so buying a course planner or printing the one on there web site is must for a first time visitor, I did neither and found it very difficult. Greens I'm told are usually very good but had recently been hollow tinned so were not great, Rough was very very thick very lush grass it was a miracle I only lost 1 ball! Also I'm usually ok around the greens with a wedge but struggled a few times here where green side rough was in my opinion poorly maintained, allowed to grow too long then it's flattened down by wind or feet, add this to the thick lush type of grass and you have a lie from hell if you have short sided yourself, I would expect a lie like this way off line but just a few feet off the green I've never experienced this before. Finish on a positive some of the holes are good fun some interesting raised greens with some nice slopes, I didn't go in any but the bunkers look very well maintained.

Played here in a recent golf society. The greens were uneven and slow,in fact the worst in terms of condition that I have played on all year. Rather expensive for what was offered. The evening meal main course was extremely disappointing, chicken pie with a bought in puff pastry top-can no one make fersh pastry anymore?- With a filling that I can only describe as awful. Not a golf course that I would recommend.

Winter hill is a bit of a find, and located in nice suroundings you cant go to far wrong. Most of the holes are challenging and well designed and the greens are very true and well maintained. It did get a bit busy on the Sat afternoon that i was there and the play was a bit slow but i put this down to a comp that was playing earlier in the day and had over run.

Tucked away & unspoilt, the course always seems to be in excellent condition. Has some character & you'll need to play well if trying to achieve Handicap. Great views & variety of holes. Worth playing at least once, not ideal for beginners due to difficulty

Excellent drainage
Course played very well whilst others around were closed.Greens in great condition and people generally friendly.

Very nice course
Considering the awful weather recently the course was in fantastic condition. A few patches of laying water, some greens quite spongy, but still playing very well. And push/electric trolleys still being allowed.Always enjoy playing here - definitely worth a visit
