Golf course review of Huntswood Golf Club

Even though we played in sub zero temperatures (finally warmed to a barmy 2 degrees at 1430), and the ground was rock solid (couldn't even get a tee into the ground, I thourghly enjoyed this course. It's short, yes, but it's tight (found that leaving my driver in the bag was the best policy, although accurate big hitters would enjoy the many Green in One opportunities) and has plenty of character. Looking forward to going back in the summer when the ground is softer and the many many trees etc. are in full bloom, I expect it to be a very pleasant round. I liked it:-)

The best pay and play in Berkshire, short course but good variety of holes and wide fairways. Immaculate condition and very good greens.
No range but large practice area.

I like playing here because the course is well-maintained. However, the clubhouse is small with 1 range box.

The course is a bit of a maze, but the fairways tend to be quite wide and forgiving, with soft greens.

Short course but very well maintained, as others have said the main thing here is to stay straight and be on the correct side of the fairways to avoid the ball running away from you.
Staff and regular players there made our Society feel welcome.

Played yesterday and found it good fun, fairly varied and a good mix of forgiving and punishing areas. Not the longest or most difficult of course but for a p&p i was impressed. Tee's are a bit tricky to find from time to time but on a mid day week was lovely and quiet. Welcome form the clubhouse/proshop and other members was really very good indeed.

I imagine it could be quite another story when it gets busy at the weekend and will return to have a pint in the clubhouse and quiz other players before booking a weekend round myself.
