Windmill Hill Golf Club
Tattenhoe Lane, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK3 7RB United Kingdom
The Course was designed by Henry Cotton (winner of the Open Golf Championship in 1934) and was opened in 1972. The Golf Course is owned by Milton Keynes Council and since 1995 has been leased to Golf Course Management (Milton Keynes) Ltd. (GCM) who operate the facilities as a private business.
The course is basically flat with no steep hills to climb (good for the heart) and has only short walks between greens and tees. It measures 6,385 yards from the yellow tees (par 73 and SSS 70) and measures 6,720 yards from the white tees (par 73 and SSS 72). In the winter months, depending on the weather, the Course may be shortened with play being from forward grass tees and/or mats. Due to the size of the greens, we never play on temporary greens at any time during the year.
Now that the trees have matured, the Course is very picturesque with a wide variety of different types and it has become a good test of golf, with care being required from the tees. However, the larger greens are some compensation by helping with shots that don’t quite go where intended.Book a Tee Time

This course is rarely busy, but i dont know why as in the winter you can play for 10 ponds after eleven. It is quite a long course and far more difficult without the roll of harder drier fairways. Apart from that it is not that difficult and you rarely lose a ball. I am 20 handicapper and you do not get punished to often for waywood shots, but a mid to low handicapper would want more of a challenge. The Tees and greens are not brilliant but acceptable. The price has just gone up to £26.50 at the weekend but twilight rounds are still reasonable. There are other local courses in better nick for the same money.

not really fair to review this on this round - it was frozen solid and -6C when we teed off!! So was basically 18 hole crazy golf....however in normal weather the greens are usually good - its the longest course in Milton Keynes and very straight so has its critics but I think its a good test....

Long flat and uninspiring. Good greens and quiet course. Would probably play again.

Good course to practice on. Very straight, so your driving has to be too. With large greens in play all year round your putting needs to be good. Can get a little muddy in winter and the greens do suffer a bit too. This year however, the green keppers are making a real go at improving the course. Another thing is the winter course is over 1000 yards shorter than the summer, so as a member its almost like playing 2 different courses.

This course is great to improve keeping it straight and distance. The fairways are narrow to test you on (keeping it straight) and long too. It's deceaving because its straight, but it will drive you crazy. fairways are good, read the greens these also can be deceaving to the eye.

A course that is unfortunately located in an uninspiring location. If you are hitting straight you will hit a good score otherwise you will find that the fairway lined trees become second home. You get a friendly welcome and they are accommadating to your needs but on a down side they do let some 'chavs' dressed in cut offs and vests use the course which is a bit distracting when listening to their colourful language

It's a long old slog but as good as it gets for a public course, lots of leaves around in oct/nov but still nice
