Have played here a few times with work and friends. Usually a very well kept course. Unfortunately the rains in the days before left it like a quagmire. This was never mentioned to us as we payed our full green fee. In some areas you were sinking past your ankles, balls getting lost in the middle of fairways due to plugging in the soft ground. Found out afterwards that the majority of other clubs in the area had closed as they classed themselves as unplayable. It would have been better if Willow Valley had taken that course of action rather than our money!

PLayed the Willow Valley main course, £99 for fourball with buggies - which on the face of it is excellent value.

The layout is good, some very interesting and potentially tough holes. Fairways and all other parts of the course fine.

Greens were an absolute disgrace for a golf club of any standard and the worst I have played in the area. Slow. Bumpy. In patches absolutely bare. Some good golfers in our group and no one could convince themselves to hit putts nearly hard enough they were so slow. Ruined any chance of enjoying the round and for that reason I would not go back until I had heard they had dramatically improved.

CHECK BEFORE GOING we was a four ball teeing off 7.42am competition apparently on hassling us to hurry, we allowed one group to play through twice, both times both player hit into the trees both sides of fairway i say 1 group 2 ball? (competition 2 balls?) ten mins later we where waiting for them, more 2 balls behind us at one point we had the 2 we had let through on the green our 4 ball mid fairway waiting for them to clear and another "competition" 2 ball behind us on the fairway so 3 groups all on one fairway what a pile of rubbish, speed golf at worst was not a good sunday outing at all. Ignorant members and when i say ignorant i mean ignorant i was 6 foot away from 2 behind us i said hello and they looked at me like i had just kissed there wife? crazy so if you are looking for a peaceful round with polite people on a course this is 100% not the place to be.

OVERRATED This is never a championship course really disaspointed and the staff are so cold towards new faces. The driving range is a total joke if you use a trolley, never again.

Played the championship course some strange holes did not hit a driver until 13 hole, bunker ponds and dog legs position wrongly hole 3 is a zig zag I hit 8 iron 7 iron then wedge on to green, greens ok for the average golfer not too fast or slow, some patchy bold areas probably due to excess trolley use in winter , price was £30 each there is better courses out there for better value, might look at it differently if played a few times , yardage post seem to be out, may be to show its longer than it is

Course is can be a good course for beginners but the fairway still needs to be cut and the greens rolled. Not good condition really considering the cost for 9 holes at twilight and how good I know the full course is kept

The course was in good shape. It is very forgiving and very short, which is great for beginners and high handicappers. The only down side is that I believe it is too expensive for a round of golf.

This course is over rated. I played there on Monday in a competition and it was not the best. The staff where not very welcoming apart from the lady who was serving the bacon butties.
The course itself need some attention, for example the fairways needed cutting as they were like the first cut of rough in parts. The greens had loads of pitch marks on them (which I appreciate is stupid, lazy players who can't be bother to have the decency to repair them).
The course could also do with some better signs displaying the direction to the next tee as some tees are a bit of a walk and not always obvious as to their whereabouts.
If these things were sorted out this would be an excellent, very challenging course. It is tight and has plenty of bunkers and water.
