Withheavily bunkered fairways and greens, combined with testing water hazards on 11 of its 18 holes, the course can challenge the most experienced golfer. The Willow valley Course has been chosen to host the Yorkshire PGA championships until 2013. the tournament has had several high profile winners including the past Ryder Cup champion Gordon Brand.
Our intermediate Pine Valley course is of interest to golfers of all abilities. An 18 hole course measuring 5154 yards off the competition tees. The course has been designed with undulating U.S.G.A. greens, to allow players to run the ball onto them rather than having to fly the ball through the air. There are lakes and bunkers, though placed to catch only the most wayward shot.
The Fountain Ridge course is built to the same U.S.G.A. standards as the Willow Valley Course. Comprising of six par3 and three par 4 holes it is ideal for those who are not yet ready to play our other courses or for golfers with restricted time. This course is a perfect 9-hole addition to any golf day as a warm-up for the 18 hole challenges ahead.
Our floodlit 3-hole Academy course is great fun and also a fantastic facility to hone your pitching skills. Playing from real grass tees to well scaled target greens, you will soon develop an eye for judging distances up to 80 yardsContact Information

Played on a cold fresh winter day, the sun was shining and the ground was rock hard.
I do rate this course very highly and it is in good condition considering that its open all year round.
Having two 18 hole and one 9 hole it takes a hammering during the summmer months.
Pay and play or member the welcome in the pro shop is always cheerful.
The clubhouse offer a good memu and the Sunday carvery is good value but you better check availability as it is very very popular. The Course

Two very good courses, Willow Valley is the main course and with 11 out 18 holes having water on makes it a challenge for any skilled golfer.
Pine valley is the 2nd course, this is still in its early development stage with a lot of staked trees but still a challenge. During winter the course is fully open with normal tees and greens. The Course

Two main courses. Willow Valley has lots of water and is a challenge, Pine Valley a lot easier (and has many free drop areas - check with pro shop/members for local rules on drops before you go out)
Can be quite wet underfoot so be mindful of weather prior to you playing. The Course

Rather a lot of ongoing repairs and upkeeping,
The course is showing signs of overwear due to the wet conditions.
Some of the greens have been hollowtined and sanded.
The tee areas are showing signs of overwear and need some repairs carried out.
Overall the course will be in condition for the summer. The Course

Ratings based on expected summer conditions as round played in the winter.
This is a hard course, with water coming into play on many holes, namely 2,3,6,7,10,12,13,14,15,18. Of these, the par 5 3rd is a true 3 shot hole to get to the green due to hole design. The 14th is a stunning hole to a near island green. The 18th is short but water to the left and then in front of the green. If you like to be challenged on the course, then have a round of golf here! The Course

Willow valley course plays very long with a lot of water coming into play. For the newcomer to golf(me) its probably a little too difficult yet to enjoy.
The pine valley course is more enjoyable for a high handicapperThe Course

We tend to play Pine Valley as a rule which is a nice confidence builder and very very good for a beginner and high handicapper with it's big greens and wide fairways.............some cracking holes to play and if you are somewhat wayward you get relief as most of the course has staked trees..........I played Willow Valley only once and heard lots of scare stories about it............i think it is a nicely designed course very testing and very very American in its design and how it plays...........fairways are very boggy in some areas as the drainage is not fantastic.........it is certainly a thinking golfers course.........my only criticism is that on most of the holes there is a ridiculously long walk from the green to the next tee............The Clubhouse is quite small and the driving range is very basic...............the staff need a bit of a gee up as they are very aloof and not the most helpful or knowledgeable

OVERRATED This is never a championship course really disaspointed and the staff are so cold towards new faces. The driving range is a total joke if you use a trolley, never again.

This is an American course in all senses apart from the execution. The layout is heavily bunkered and there's plenty of water and a cart is almost a must as there are long distances between greens and tees on several holes. This is where the comparison ends. The course was obviously originally a very marshy piece of land and this shows in the extremely soft fairways which had quite a few nasty muddy patches when I played in the height of summer. I dread to think what it's like in winter. If you're going to open an American style course with lots of water hazards you need to make sure the drainage is up to scratch and it just isn't here.
In fairness, there are some difficult and interesting holes, with the 7th probably being the pick of them - a cleverly designed par 5. However, there are holes where the design hasn't been thought out - the 10th being a prime example. It's nearly 600 yards up hill - not reachable in two - but there's a massive water hazard across the fairway right on driving distance meaning you can take no more than a three wood off the tee; you can't then get close in 2. After a 3 wood and a 5 wood I still had a 6 iron left. The Course
