Verulam Golf Club
London Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 1JG United Kingdom
Our challenging par 72 course was designed by James Braid and we are now well into our second century as a thriving members’ club situated in the heart of historic St Albans, known as Verulamium in Roman times.
We take great pride both in the year round condition of our course and also in the pace and subtlety of our greens, arguably the finest in Hertfordshire. You can always be assured of a challenging but fair test. Book a Tee Time

The course is very good but not as long as you think. Big hitters will drive into trouble from the tee as the fairways are tight and undulating. Nice old clubhouse with some great history in the Ryder cup.

Great course. But with a bit of walking between some green-tee and no buggies. But power caddy trollies are available to hire. All in all very enjoyable golfing experience

Home of the Ryder Cup ! Sam Ryder used to be a member here, apparently.
Course in v good condition, with beautiful greens.
Bit noisy on the 1st, 2nd and 18th holes as very close to London-Midlands railway line. Some challenging holes. One particular hole (11th) aims straight towards St Albans Abbey and is recommended for the view.
Clubhouse well known for quality of its food too. Recommended.

Home of the Ryder Cup. Well worth playing at least once but at £35 a bit expensive for what you can get everywhere else

Very nice course although some of the holes are rather easy for "big hitters". A little slow too (on the day)as there was a society on the course where one of the lady players had never played before and we counted at least 14 shots on the 12th. Marshalls required!
