lovely course

Just back from a 2 day / 1 night stay at the Oxfordshire - course was in great condition, hotel is good, food ok too.
My only 'gripe' would be the beer selection on offer.
As an 'out of town' location you really need to have a decent selection of drinks for overnight guests, so surely you can get some decent 'ale' in the upstairs bar, even if you can't get it on draft then get a choice of some bottles of craft beer in.
You had 'old speckled hen' down stairs, a local brew, for example, but not upstairs. For a decent hotel I'd expect a choice of 5-6 craft beers in bottles, a couple of famous brands that people will like and maybe a couple of local brands that people may not have tried before.

Ryder Cup potential that ran out of steam

The Oxfordshire has a very unique, almost arena feel about the course. With a few quid spent on it - it could be a Ryder Cup course. However, the upkeep is wanting (the greens & fairways were not in great shape) but it does offer something for Golfers at all levels. definitely, worth a look-see.

Fantastic course in a beautiful setting

Well maintained and quite challenging course with a lot of water. Quite a few elevated tees which adds to the enjoyment of the impressive landscape and views. Great setting, and lots of wildlife: any golfers who are also ornithologists will be delighted.

Just a VERY good golf course

Incredible, that you can stand on the clubhouse balcony and see the whole course! Fantastic layout, great condition, some really great holes, and not beyond the mid to long handicapper shooting a decent score. Just a VERY good golf course.

Having played the course many times I was somewhat disappointed with the course condition. Perhaps the rain the previous day meant it was too wet to cut fairways and greens. Greens were slow and very soft. Ordered food and had to chase staff as it took nearly an hour to arrive ...

Great course but poor daytime facilities.

Two days of golf with work group. The course condition was fantastic with the exception of the bunkers which were hit and miss. Some nice and soft with others being rock hard. We stayed over night and accommodation and evening meal / service were great. The daytime bar was simply shocking. Meals and drinks missed, very very slow. Over an hour for a ham sandwich after finishing round.

Played a society day, course played long as it was soaked from days of rain but was playable. Greens were good and true. Some of the walks between greens and tees were very muddy and slippery. Always enjoy the challenge of this course.
