Today was the 2nd time i have played Southport Golf Links and it is a great course to play, the course is a great challenge with plenty of little traps to catch you out!
The length of the par 4`s on the back 9 means they are very hard to reach in 2.
I would highly recommend Southport Golf Links to anybody looking for a challenge!

Bad golfers
The course is a little shoddy at times.Mainly from uncaring or unthoughtful players who don't treat the course with respect, I see players not replacing divots or not repairing pitch marks on the greens, last week I had to ask a group of 2 players not to park their buggy on one of the greens, The prices for a round are too low so people of no experience spend a 10er and just hack their way round, with prices this low there is not enough money to upgrade the course, Also the bad weather of late don't help,Reviewer Rating

Very w8ndy day but for November course was in very reasonable condition . The stormy winds made the course difficult but interesting

Nice but tough municipal golf course
A nice course that keeps you thinking, a lot of well placed ditches keeps you guessing. Also combines with some reachable par 4?s opening up eagle opportunities. The signature 13th is very picturesque, best enjoyed from the White tees.Reviewer Rating

Worth the money
Played here for my first round in 8 years. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, even though I shot a 119. As a links course I expected to lose a few balls, and I lost a lot. The rough is a thick wilderness, and after losing a couple of balls, I gave up looking and just dropped. A couple of the greens are in poor condition, and could do with some attention. It's a challenging course that I did really enjoy playing, and I will play again.Reviewer Rating

Greatly improved
Third trip here, course was in much better condition than previous trips and whilst not perfect, you have to acknowledge it was a society day that included a round and a superb breakfast too.....for ?25.Reviewer Rating

This muni is always good to play and the condition at the moment is very good with some alterations made to a couple of holes good fairways and greens the rain never arrived so all's well pity i left my golfing brain at home but there always another day

Gem of a course
Second trip and still thoroughly enjoyable. For where it is and in comparison to more illustrious neighbours I think it's a gem. Low green fees, decent condition, nice mix of holes right on the seafront, bargain. And it's been glorious sunshine every time I've played!Reviewer Rating

good course got there early got round 3.5 hours course very wet found that if you miss fairways hard to reach greens could do with a bar
