Designed in 1913 by Tom Simpson and Herbert Fowler, the undulating ground has been used well to provide a challenge on every fairway and green. The course snakes through mature oaks and occasionally crosses ravines, so club selection is always important to get exactly the right distance.
Generous fairways accommodate all levels of handicap golf and our rough will penalise you with a restricted shot, not necessarily a lost ball.
Our greens are well maintained and watered, even at the height (or should that be heat) of the summer thanks to our new well in the heart of the course, right next to our new half-way hut which has food and drink to sustain you through the second half of your round.Book a Tee Time

Great greens ands generally in good condition for March. Not very long and the fairways run close to each other meaning wayward shots aren't always penalised. 1st, 7th, 13th and 17th stand out with the 7th being my personal favourite a great par 3 that falls away short and left of the raised green leading to some interesting 2nd shots - definate potential card wrecker. Members very friendly and the clubhouse and halfway hut are good.

I went to look at this course at the thought of possibly joining, I really liked the feel of it, old members style club. The only thing I would say is when I played it, it played very short and with not enough protection to be a challenge every week.
