What the club says: The challenging Championship course was designed in 1932 and has the feel of a long established and challenging course. If you don’t feel quite up to the demands of the 9 hole course or the Championship course, why not try the 18 hole Falconwood course that will test your golfing skills.

This is a beautifully designed shortish course, challenging in many places, requiring accurate ball striking. It is part of Addington Ct complex, w/ bar and other facilities across road. But course maintenance is non-existent and always has been. No rakes in bunkers, greens patchy and unplayable. OK for cheap practice round, that's about it.

Course was good value for money, greens need a bit more looking after as a few were very bumpy but over all very good

Greens in poor condition although I believe a watering system failure has caused this. It has been much better previously

Do not play this course. The greens and tees are awful. We were told after playing that the watering system is not working. We should have been told before hand so we could have played the championship course across the road. It seems all crown golf are interested in is taking our money. We also hired a buggy which cost £26. One of the dearest around. We will not be going to this course again - ever.

Friendly welcoming staff. Good facilities. Greens were being treated but were still ok. Rough has been cut back a bit so more forgiving than before. Will be back soon.

I played the Falconwood a couple of days ago. I had actually played here earlier in the summer and at that point it was in reasonable condition and is a simple, but enjoyable challenge. Not so this time. To call the greens dry would constitute gross understatement on my behalf. My suspicions were aroused on the first when I hit a towering sand iron into the green which then bounced 20 feet in the air. At first I assumed i had hit a sprinkler head or a stone, on reaching the green however, it became apparent that this has not been the case. I use the term 'green' loosely, 'light brown' would be a more appropriate definition. Every single green on the course is barren. It is no exaggeration to say that not a single living blade of grass exists beyond the fringe. Not only is each green dead, they are also cracked and have the appearance of the grand canyon in miniature. These cracks, similar to tectonic plates seem to have pressed against each other and have formed large ridges which make putting impossible. Even the greenkeepers at Augusta National would be horrified at the speed the neglect of the course has these greens running at. Anything over a 3 inch back-swing with the short stick and you will send your ball running back off the green. One benefit is that the soil is so parched of water it has had a shrinking effect around the hole itself, making the diameter a solid inch wider than usual.

It is truly impossible to state how appalling the Falconwood is. I am convinced that the greens have not been watered once all summer. Even though cheap bookings are available online they are not worth it. The Falconwood is more likely to send you into a state of deep self loathing and depression than provide anything approaching an enjoyable round of golf.

Always a bubble on a Sunday before the Foot Golf posse take over at 12 noon, and why not, no room for snobs here. Greens are surprisingly difficult on some holes particularly the 7th Tee par 3. Land on the elevated Green over the pin if possible but then watch in horror as your girly Putt steam roles its way back toward the 8th Tee and wave goodbye to a once respectable score card!, bummer.

The management at this place really don't care once they have got your money. There is no marshalling so expect a long round. I had a 4 ball in front of me who fell 4 holes behind and never let me through. I saw 3 groups sharing a set of clubs. Scruffy uneven tees, scorched dry greens, litter bins overflowing with plent of wasps. Farliegh Court is only up the road.

Very good all round, only thing that could be improved on is the pathways. Like many other courses they need more woodchip to cover the stony ground.

Always pretty well maintained, but other players on the course need to apply better etiquette 3 ball jumped in front of us on the 8th and wouldn't let us through even though they were playing slow for most of the back 9...........

Falconwood course is generally in good condition at the current time, save for the greens which desperately need some water as several have large cracks in them. There were also like glass for the same reason making chipping and putting very difficult especially if short sided on the hole. But for £12 at twighlight on a weekend you can't really argue and it's well worth going round for a practise.

A picturesque golf course, and very challenging, not for the beginner, could do with a few more ball cleaning pods around the course, that is my only fault. Alan W.
