Queens Park Golf Club

Queens Park Golf ClubQueens Park is renowned as a rural haven in the middle of Bournemouth and celebrated its centenary in 2005. Once a regular on the European Tour, the course has hosted many major professional tournaments including players of the calibre of Tony Jacklin, Henry Cotton and Seve Ballesteros. There remains a distinct sense of history as well as a very mature and challenging course, where management of the game takes the driving seat to power play. The fairways meander freely through many acres of lovely heathers, colourful gorse and all in a wonderful pine woodland setting. The greens are fast and true, providing a good challenge to even the best golfers.

Golf course review of Queens Park Golf Club

this is my local course and its seeing some improvements ,looks like the council has spent some money on plant...new mowers...and the greens are getting dressed regulary, new machine for sorting drainage instead of ruining it with spike holes ..fairways have been good all year opposed to when they used to play like concrete....never seen it so lush and green....
best its looked in years ......letting fairways grow a bit thicker in first cut to make it tougher to play.....
keep up all the good work green keepers

Golf course review of Queens Park Golf Club

Considering this is a course with full public access and rights of way, the general condition of the course was good. Playing of winter teas which in the majority where sprung mat platforms giving a very stable and reliable tea location.
Much better course than expected and quite hilly in some places

Golf course review of Queens Park Golf Club

This is a very hilly and demanding course. Take your driver onto the tee if you dare! You need to be sure that you are driving straight for this course otherwise you will be doing a George of the Jungle! I tried to be brave and paid the price, but the next time I will drive off the tees with irons for most of the holes to get a decent score and not hold such a grudge for playing so badly here! The 19th is good, small but friendly and noisy when we were there!

Golf course review of Queens Park Golf Club

I have been wanting to play this course for the last couple of years since I have been hearing the stories of its history and heritage. The course is a classical park golf course with forests of mature trees all around and ready to catch those errant tee shots.I found the course to be in really great condition and the greens were fantastic as they were both receptive and true. The course has some of the most intimidating driving holes and you can clearly see its old championship heritage. Even though the course may present a challenge to the higher handicapper there will be lots of chances to make pars on the great short holes which are all very fair and will reward good shots. The course is very up and down so expect to have lots of exercise and get used to playing shots into elevated greens. So if your are out for a great days golf at a reasonable price this course is for you. As for the walkers on the course it is unfortunately a problem that one has to contend with as it is a public course.

Golf course review of Queens Park Golf Club

The course itself is quite good with a few interesting holes and different gradients to contend with. What lets it down is that it is open public space so you get dog walkers and cyclists accross the course paying no attention whatsoever to whats going on. Dog mess is also quite a common sight with lazy owners not cleaning up after their dogs and after a good drive on one hole my playing partner has his ball stolen by a dog. It was however midweek and after 12 so it was only £10 each for 18 holes.

Golf course review of Queens Park Golf Club

Very hard coarse will suit long straight hitters, The greens in great condition some of the fairways a bit hard but that's just the weather. I would perfer the dog walkers to keep their dog's on there leads. All in all great days golf.
