Very wet

Unfortunately the course was extremely wet and probably should not have been open, losing balls on the fairways that were more like rough. Leaves everywhere hindering ball finding and the greens were poor. I have played this course quite a few times and it has always been better than today. Staff really friendly and helpful. Hopefully they can have a dry spell.

Tees really bad look as though they had not had a drop of water for weeks, cutnot get a tee in the ground needed a mallet or hammer for this. Yes weather very dry & no rain but a little watering were tee pegs are placed i don't think is impossible. Poor finish around greens long grass no grass, and greens were either bare or looked like wembley in places no consistancy so impossible judge pace from one green to next bit of tlc i feel all this could be avoided.

Second time i've played Pryors Hayes & I dont think I would play it again. The rough is frightening, especially around the greens. I dont think there is any excuse for rough this long. In some cases there is no fringe, its greens then HEAVY rough. Grass cuttings left on every fairway also, virtually impossible to play low bump & runs. Very very slow round. It took us 5 hours 15 mins. Huge womens society in front not letting anyone through. At one point there was 5 groups on 1 hole. At £24 a round it is not cheap either.

The course was in good condition and well maintained with mostly true, if slightly bobbly greens. However, I simply couldn't get excited about this course.

The holes are tightly packed in and the whole course is pancake flat which means that there are few if any shots which really make you think as an errant shot will usually end up on an adjacent fairway.

I WOULD recommend this course to high handicappers and beginner golfers - I can see it would be a very good place to learn to swing better and improve your short game, but this isn't one for people who can regularly break 85.

The Greens were in a bad state and the course in general wasn't impressive. I heard Hartford have took it over, lets hope they improve things.

A very nice atmosphere and 'club' feel with nice people and a helpful pro but a very simple course that is short and not in great condition for late Aug after a decent summer. Rock hard fairways and some very poorly kept greens. No advantage from hitting the fairway - the first cut of rough gave a better lie. Tees very scruffy and bare patches of dried out bare earth on the fringes of quite a few greens. A very flat course with not a lot done in the design to add to the challenge. A shame - excellent marketing and promotion led me to this course and it was a disappointment.

Nice course

It's a nice course, not the longest, but definitely challenging. It's in good condition, the greens aren't the fastest, but they're good.
There's a good few trees & a smattering of water.
Look out for the 11th where a brook splits the fairway, the dog leg 13th & the 16th is a cracking par 3

Ok

It's a good coarse with excellent greens but very wet in winter even when other coarses play dryer, the food is way over priced
