Nice clubhouse & was given advice about where to start from the pro. This was a good challenge of my game with various types of obsticles to keep you interested. I was told that the course has been made easier recently in lots of clearing work to keep your ball in more findable places. Again if it were more local would definitely go back

Played with a member, who has raved about his course since early spring. Turned up, thankfully no wind to talk of, imagine with a 20 mph it would be challenging. Great condition, from tee to green, greens in late July will still hold a ball. Many great holes from the short 6th ( birdie ) to the short par 3 12th ( Double Bogey ) to the final 3 holes which is as tough a finish in Essex. Understand why an Opening qualifying course.

we played the course on 2nd Feb 2010 and the front and back 9's were very fair. The fairways are very wide, and the challenge is around the greens. So have a good short game with you.
despite the poor weather for the previous 2 months, only 1 temporary green. And the course was generally in good condition.
Friendly Pro shop and nice clubhouse.
Pins were challenging but that is what you want, marker positions were clear and accurate.
There are plenty of opportunities to birdie if you play your shots into the right areas and have a neat short game as mentioned before, and three of the 4 Par 5's are reachable in 2 if the wind and good bounce is with you.
worth a visit

The course played very tough today. Pins were tucked away in unapproachable positions and the wind was quite strong. Last 4 holes are energy sapping and quite had to par. However, there are chances to birdie if you play your shots into the right areas and have a neat short game.
