Local Public Course

The course starts off on a flat parkland type setting but after that it goes into the valley and becomes more of an inland links type of course the back 9 revert back into a parkland type setting.

Played NYE, greens are in an awful state even for the time of year, and the price does not reflect the state of this course at the moment, bare mud patches in places...bumpy and impossible to read,

Had a spare few hours, so went to play the 9 hole course. They took the money (only £12 but not the point) and I started down the first. Got to the green, half a mile from clubhouse and out of sight of the tee. They were being sanded. Not just sanded - it was about half an inch think, and it hadn't been brushed in. There were footsteps and rake marks all over it. The ball didn't even roll. Every hole was the same - they went round and sanded the lot. I gave up - it was hopeless. They were worse than temps. I accept people have to upkeep the course, but not telling you when they take your money that the greens are unplayable isn't right. I felt like I'd been conned - a few others on the course said the same. I met them as they were walking in, having given up, too. Very shabby.

Played a society here on a sunday. Nice breakfast. Pro shop had next to no stock of any kind. Course was in good condition considering a fair amount of recent rain. The greens were awful, grass was too long and full of weeds making them very very slow.
Long course with repetative holes. Would play again but would not rush back.

Oh dear.

Course excluding greens in fantastic condition. Majority of bunkers were very weedy and lacking sand. Some resembled a gravel pit.
The greens however were the worst I have ever played. Pocked and pitted and 80% of them had a fantastic coating of toadstools which either left moon like craters or little stumps.

Could be better

This course could be a little gem but is in need of some TLC. This is not a lockdown result it has been in need of investment for some time.

Tough cookie in winter

Hard trek anytime of year ,having said that pretty good condition as mainly chalk down land.Long course with some brutal par 4s so take your A game with you great views along the valley.

This course has great potential, the course itself has good variety of holes but the slow greens and generally poorly maintained course just is a let down, being charged £29 for a midweek round on a council owned course is far too expensive!
