High Elms Golf Club
A par 71 (SS70) and par 72 (SS72) for ladies, High Elms Golf Course, features many tree-lined fairways and strategically placed greenside bunkers which call for accurate driving and well placed iron shots. With its large variety of mature trees and excellent layout, High Elms is a public course of outstanding character and quality.
Apart from the normal mental challenges of golf, High Elms Golf Course gives you plenty of other things to think of, uphill and downhill lies, sidehill lies, doglegs and the 13th, unlucky for many regular players. It may only be a 224 yard par 3 from the white tees, but out of bounds left and right, uphill and over 3 bunkers to the green, means that although it is stroke index 2 on the mens card, many believe it to be the hardest hole on the course. Do not be put off though, play it as a par 4 and walk away happy.Contact Information

Very muddy and not in great condition. High Elms seems to retain water making it difficult to maintain in wet/winter conditions. Just about okay for £20 but I wouldn't pay more.

Greenkeepers could do a better job. Some bunkers are messy, greens untidy etc. However, great location and some very pretty and challenging holes. Only real problem was how slow it was >5hrs.

A mixture of tight and open holes, with the number of tight holes having the greater number. Some of your shots will be blind and some of the fairways you will have to hit on the correct side of the slope. The 12th is a very easy par 5 with a good possibilty of better. This is followed up by 'The hardest par 3 in Kent' and it is. The 11th and the 17th are driveable par 4's. A good challenge of golf all round with the prospect of scoring well.T his is an excellent value pay as you play course and if you can get past the private is better thinking you will find that this course is actually better than some not all nearby private courses. Generally the course is in good condition but maintenance of greens and buners could be better although this is not a major issue. The views and setting of the course is impressive and the club house is pretty good as well. Well worth a visit.

Very enjoyable round...especially my eagle on the 8th. The greens were a bit rough, but the rest of the course was quite interesting. I would definitely come back for another round.
