Great value. Great setting.

A well maintained public course, with wide open fairways, and a lovely setting in the Darenth Valley.
We played mid-day, mid-week recently and had the course more or less to ourselves. It's a good course for learners, because although it's long there is not much trouble to be found. It used to be the case that at peak times play could be slow but I don't know if that still applies.
On the downside, the greens are slow (if that worries you), the 18th tee presently needs some attention, and the 19th is fairly basic.
Nonetheless,I really enjoy the course for what it is, and it's great value at ?23 for a mid-week round for seniors.

Good for the soul

There can be few more beautiful settings for a course. Play it on a sunny day, mid week - when the course is unlikely to be busy - and it is a delight.
Pluses: the setting; wide, iinviting fairways; good variety of challenges; no long walks from green to tee; low green fees, particularly for juniors and seniors (the course is run by Sencio).
Minuses: slow greens, the slope on a few holes may catch out first timers, fairly basic clubhouse and bar, popular with beginners so can get slow at peak times.

Play during the day, mid-week and you are unlikely to find ithe course busy. For seniors the green fee then is ?19, and under18s play for only ?13.50.

Lovely setting

A most beautiful area although the course is a little shabby. Very challenging course and the
views around are just spectacular. Be warned it's tough pulling a trolley!

Ok, it is a municipal course but it is in a beautiful setting with terrific views. This is a place of peace and tranquility. Well ,getting there through the single track back roads can put people off but it is worth the visit (seniors over 60 discounts). The course is well looked after but the greens can let it down by being on the slow side and a bit patchy. It is difficult to pick a favourite hole as the course sits in the valleys and needs precision. Don't forget to pop into the clubhouse - it is not grand by any means but great service and good choice of food and beers at not rip off prices. Well worth taking the time to visit

great course

An excellent course for the cost. It would be nice if they had some 150 yard markers and the greens could do with a little TLC

Oh dear.

Course excluding greens in fantastic condition. Majority of bunkers were very weedy and lacking sand. Some resembled a gravel pit.
The greens however were the worst I have ever played. Pocked and pitted and 80% of them had a fantastic coating of toadstools which either left moon like craters or little stumps.

great course

Beautiful course set in the rolling hills of Kent. Big and wide course with fairways in good condition. Tee boxes and Greens are in a poor state due to infestation or similar. Good value for money even with the poor tees and greens. Clubhouse and Pro shop friendly and food/coffee very good. Will play again.
