What the club says: Located in more than 500 acres of the most attractive and picturesque countryside. Play in the most scenic setting in Kent. Situated in the Darenth Valley near Chelsfield village, just outside London, Lullingstone offers both dedicated player and enthusiastic beginners a location unrivalled in the south east of England. The championship length 18 hole, par 72 course provides even the most committed player with the occasional challenge. The nine-hole course offers an equally rewarding playing experience for the seasoned golfer and a gentler introduction to the challenges ahead for those embarking on the game.

Course is pretty good condition considering time of year. Tough test and plays long in these conditions.

Course in decent condition given its now middle of winter. Bit of mud around but not too bad and greens were decent. Warm welcome in the bar afterwards. Always worth playing here.

Had a spare few hours, so went to play the 9 hole course. They took the money (only £12 but not the point) and I started down the first. Got to the green, half a mile from clubhouse and out of sight of the tee. They were being sanded. Not just sanded - it was about half an inch think, and it hadn't been brushed in. There were footsteps and rake marks all over it. The ball didn't even roll. Every hole was the same - they went round and sanded the lot. I gave up - it was hopeless. They were worse than temps. I accept people have to upkeep the course, but not telling you when they take your money that the greens are unplayable isn't right. I felt like I'd been conned - a few others on the course said the same. I met them as they were walking in, having given up, too. Very shabby.

Lullingstone is a long course, 6286 yards, but affords a great challenge for high handicappers. Hilly but well managed there are great views but they don't improve your golf yet keep you interested.

The course has several holes that play on steep slopes. In dry conditions the ball runs across the fairway into the rough, even though the centre of the fairway is hit. Green were in very good condition but the rest of the course very dry. An interesting course to play though.
Club house is very dated but the breakfast was good.

Tee to green in good condition, yardages seemed to be out, always needed an extra club to hit green. Difficult to keep ball on green, however greens were slow.

Benn playing this course on and off for 30 years. Even remember the days when people would camp out all night to get a tee. That of course was before the Internet and the proliferation of clubs which were built 80s / 90s Birchwood, Chelsfield Lakes etc. Course has always been challenging but on a windless summer day is just beautiful. Stunning views and the incessant chatter of skylarks. The course is in fair condition greens slow but true bunkers not the best. Most of front 9 you will struggle for a flat lie but back 9 better.

Hardly any stock in pro-shop, distinct lack of sand in the bunkers, overpriced compared to other better kept courses. The greens are slow but the do run true and are in good condition. I usually play here for practice as its usually very quiet and the fairways are very forgiving. The owners of this course should be ashamed of themselves, they are letting the staff down dreadfully.
