After paying £16 for the first round here they give you a card which will allow you to play any time for £10 as many time as you like and will make use of that.
As you pull in to the club you get a great view of some of the course in what seems to be a valley and looks like its going to be a tough round on the legs, dont let this put you off. Yes its a long way to the top part of the course but the views are stunning when you reach the summit.
The course itself is very good, nice mixture of holes. The front 9 has 3 par 5's and only 1 on the back with very long and short par 3's.
The river seems to be everywhere here and water can come into play on a number of holes if your wayward from the tee's.
2 things for me that let the course down. firstly its not really clearly marked where the next tee is but more importantly I spent a couple of minutes on each green reparing pitch marks which let;s the otherwise excellent receptive greens.
All in all I had a good round and will return soon.

Not a bad course and 2-4-1 vouchers make it less than £10 a round. The only trouble is it is a very hilly course meaning buggies are essential. Last time we were there I only saw about 3 buggies and you cannot use them on 6 of the holes due to restricted access. Something that needs looking at I feel.

The Course is slowly improving and can see the developments will help
Its a challenging course with some very narrow tee shots, don't underestimate its length, most of the holes undulate or water hazards.
The Greens however are slow and difficult to read.
Overall a course that is growing and needs work.

Deceptively tricky course, with the valley running through the middle of the course presenting a few challenging lies on every round, the river to contend with and some tricky holes.
The course still needs work, the driving range is still being built and the tunnel under the bridge to some of the back 9 needs a lot of work, but overall its very good value for money and well worth a visit.

Course needs some work. Greens very rough condition and lots of out of bounds in random places. Lots of better kept courses at better value in local area.

Excellent course and got to see Jimmy Greaves the first time I visited!
Seems a lot of work is going on and the new owners are improving the course a great deal.

After a night of relly heavy rain the course played very well and the greens there are improving all the time.

Course has improved over last year.Very nice lay out and location but the greens and fairways still need a lot of improvement to justify the lay out and cost.Could become one of the best courses around.I play here because of my friends

In comparsion to other course around Essex Notley offers variety, challenge and good games of golf for excellent value for money. This why I keep going back for the challenge and to look after my wallet.
Time and money is being spent on the course by Jimmy Greaves and business associates which can totally be noticed over the years.

This course has improved over the years but still has a fair bit to do, they now have buggies for the 5 holes over the back.
Very good service in the club house and a friendly atmosphere.

Although still be upgraded it offers wonderful value for money and plays pretty well. Club facilities and food are excellent and staff friendly
