As opposed to joining a single club, I play my way across the NE and further afield. I was told of Knotty Hill from a society member and giving its reputation for staying open in winter months, I felt I should give it a go. I was impressed. Their website brags of a friendly atmosphere and I often think its the easiest lie any club can make, but if anything they were selling themselves short. The service was exceptional from every member of staff, so much so I made the effort of learning the names of Andy and Chris. Our entire group commented on their unwavering ability to help, assist and welcome us all. I know of a couple of courses in the area that were closed due to rain, but the greens on the day were impressive, and its hard to imagine how good they could be come summer. I played the Princes Course which I was told was known as A and B. I read reports on here that I often think are exaggerated and this is my first review, but hopefully people will take this as the honest assessment I intended it, first time customer, I still maintain my policy of playing a different course each week, but I will definitely be back.
