What the club says: This par 72 6,688 yard course is considered to be among one of the best in the area and having hosted the Northern PGA tournament, its credentials speak for themselves. A mature setting sees the course meander through some awkwardly positioned trees, not to mention numerous water hazards making it an enjoyable and challenging round for all levels of golfer.
One of my favourite courses in County Durham. Some great holes, with some serious water hazards. Strategic golf, not just a driver off the tee. Definitely worth playing, and a great clubhouse.
(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 89 Handicap: 13.2)
Played on a blowy but sunny Friday at 2pm. Course was empty and great value for £17. Didn't use the facilities hence why just good. This course is the closest we have to a championship course without paying silly money. A real test with multiple tricky and demanding holes! A hard and testing round. Highly recommended.

Quite forgiving with wide fairways so will suit all level of golfers.
Downside being the course was wet in places and one hole closed but all in all i enjoyed it and would like to try it in summer as I'm certain it will play much better as most courses do.
Good course, just needs a bit of the whilst bad weather is there. (Round played: Oct 2016 - Score: 98 Handicap: 19.6)
(Round played: Aug 2016 - Score: 98 Handicap: 0) Course in great shape, weather perfect. The greens are running true and smoothly.
(Round played: Mar 2016 - Score: 75 Handicap: )
Boggy conditions but guess to be expected this time of the year....would be nice in the summer.
(Round played: Mar 2016 - Score: 93 Handicap: 17.6)
Great knock, very tight track. Very difficult to make a score
(Round played: Aug 2015 - Score: 82 Handicap: 12)
(Round played: Jun 2015 - Score: 85 Handicap: 12)
Course was in great condition and can see where improvements have been made. Greens were a little on the slow side, but still ran true.
(Round played: Jun 2015 - Score: 91 Handicap: 9.5)
MUST visit and play. Pro is brilliant and very helpful

I left Woodham feeling I would like to take it on again, but only when the greens are back to a playable condition. My ratings are based on the current course conditions.
(Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 83 Handicap: )
The course is in really poor condition though and doesn't merit the £27 weekend green fees, in fact £10 is a bit rich for the playing experience. The greens lack any form or consistency and even the fairways are rough. OK, so its been closed a year and the green-keepers are making some progress, but reviews are only as helpful as the honesty of the reviewer.
I personally won't be rushing to rejoin any time soon and can't say the drainage improvements have made much if any difference and we're only at the beginning of September. This is a course that can be closed for 25% of the year due to water logging and wet weather and it's a big ask to drain a course built on clay.
Sadly, I won't be back.
