very disappointed was hoping to play both the bruce and the montgomary on the same day when we phoned up we was only offered the bruce as we were told there was green work being done all day on the montgomary course so we hade to play just the bruce when we got to the course the pro in the shop says that the montgomary was out of action due to flooding so was a bit hacked off we was told different things we were also not told on the phone that there is till winter greens and tees on 18 holes on the bruce and also mats or take your ball into the rough if you hit the fairway would not bother playing here in the winter ever again but you would think there would be full everything in march the course was quite tight aswell not a lot of fairway to play with

Two decent courses
Mature woodland defines most holes, but it's pretty open off the tee. Can get quite wet underfoot.Reviewer Rating

Bunkers
The stones and lack of sand in some of the bunkers are the only minus points. The course and greens are in excellent conditionReviewer Rating

Bunkers
The 2 courses are in lovely condition given the weather we’ve had this year,The one negative is the Bunkers !! Where there Is sand ? It looks like building sand has been used (thousands of stones )

Quality fairways and greens, shame about bunkers.
Just played both courses, greens fabulous, but have to say the bunkers were a disgrace. Looked like they had been filled in from local slag heap and that is how they played. How actual members find them acceptable is a mystery Spoilt otherwise great experience.Reviewer Rating

Interesting Woodland layout
Fair test in an intersting layout. All holes are tree lines, but otherwise varied. Some burns and a pond, some dog legs each way, tight and gradual, severla fairly straight. Greens generally on the small side, good slopes and borrows that are fairly readable. A little ragged in parts, especially round the tees, and overall grass on the lush side, with ground a little soft, but not unusual for woodland/parkland course in a wet autumn.Reviewer Rating
