HIGHLY RATED - 100% would play again or recommend

What the club says: The setting alone is inspiration enough at Hever Castle’s 250 acre 27 hole course. Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, dates back to 1270. In 1903 William Waldorf Astor acquired the Castle and gradually added to the estate. In the 1920s the Astors created a nine hole golf course for their personal enjoyment, set around the Hever Castle lake and land to the north of Hever Castle, which survived until the Second World War when it was sadly abandoned.

Play here once or twice a year and always enjoy the course. It's not the cheapest but offers pretty good value on a twilight. I always find it in good condition and well maintained.

Lovely clubhouse, drinks & food reasonable too

Be aware though that you may get people jump on in front of you on the 10th, This has happened both times I have played the course this year when a reasonably swift round was suddenly slowed down to a 2 1/2 hour back nine by the selfish muppets who had jumped on a few holes ahead.

Played on 29th October. Beautiful course only spoilt by society club slow players - even the constant rain was better than the slow play. First 9 holes took almost 3 hours on Championship course, really needed marshall on course to speed things along, we failed to finish due to light and had a tee off time of 11:50!!. The Prince 9 hole course is also good to play

Really enjoyed playing the Championship course.\\Every hole is different and there are a few that wouldn\\\'t look out of place at Augusta!\\Greens were great, true and fast. \\Quite long, even off yellows, but most fairways are quite wide so you can get the driver out on most. \\Handicap 12

Long, but very enjoyable course, some nice par 3s and plenty to think about on approach shots. Greens were quick and true - a few were a little fluffy in places but certainly not enough to spoil the experience. Great value on a 2-4-1, highly recommended (Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 100 Handicap: 21.8)

Beautiful setting with a great atmosphere. The course is long and challenging but fair and makes you want to return and play again which I'm sure we will.

Very good day, the course was in very good nick, the greens were very true even though they had been treated recently. The staff were very pleasant indeed, they couldn't do enough for you. Very reasonable as well, 27 holes, bacon roll, coffee and lunch for £51. All in all a very good day. Thank you (Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 89 Handicap: 21.5)

The course was in decent condition with the fairways having recovered from the recent hot weather.
The greens had recently been worked on so were bumpy and slow.
Clubhouse good.
Pro shop OK.
Nothing very special compared to other courses but a nice venue. (Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 97 Handicap: 21.6)

A wonderful course, well presented and in a great condition. Weather was very windy and swirling.
Great setting and got round in under 4 hours. 3 holes over 500 yards and 1 at 618 yards so hitting the ball a long way helps. Look forward to playing this course again. (Round played: Aug 2014 - Score: 97 Handicap: 24.9)

It's hard not to love this course, although if you're looking for a good score then at 6500 yards from the yellows you maybe need to play elsewhere.

The front 9 is fairly generous with the fairways, but on the back 9 it tightens up and adds 200 yards. The 12th is a lovely looking par 4, but with a lake, trees, and a stream running in front of the green, there's lots of potential to ruin your round.

The par 5 17th has to be conquered if you want to get a good score here. At 600 yards, and with a narrow landing area from the tee, it is far from easy.

The first three par 3's are all really pretty looking holes, and add in the scenery, clubhouse, and practise facilities, and you should really enjoy the experience. Just don't expect a low score. (Round played: Jun 2014 - Score: 101 Handicap: 17.4)
