What the club says: The setting alone is inspiration enough at Hever Castle’s 250 acre 27 hole course. Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, dates back to 1270. In 1903 William Waldorf Astor acquired the Castle and gradually added to the estate. In the 1920s the Astors created a nine hole golf course for their personal enjoyment, set around the Hever Castle lake and land to the north of Hever Castle, which survived until the Second World War when it was sadly abandoned.

Lovely clubhouse, drinks & food reasonable too
Be aware though that you may get people jump on in front of you on the 10th, This has happened both times I have played the course this year when a reasonably swift round was suddenly slowed down to a 2 1/2 hour back nine by the selfish muppets who had jumped on a few holes ahead.
(Round played: Jul 2014 - Score: 138 Handicap: 28)
The greens had recently been worked on so were bumpy and slow.
Pro shop OK.
Nothing very special compared to other courses but a nice venue. (Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 97 Handicap: 21.6)
Great setting and got round in under 4 hours. 3 holes over 500 yards and 1 at 618 yards so hitting the ball a long way helps. Look forward to playing this course again. (Round played: Aug 2014 - Score: 97 Handicap: 24.9)
Club house also excellently run. (Round played: Jul 2014 - Score: 101 Handicap: 26.5)
The front 9 is fairly generous with the fairways, but on the back 9 it tightens up and adds 200 yards. The 12th is a lovely looking par 4, but with a lake, trees, and a stream running in front of the green, there's lots of potential to ruin your round.
The par 5 17th has to be conquered if you want to get a good score here. At 600 yards, and with a narrow landing area from the tee, it is far from easy.
The first three par 3's are all really pretty looking holes, and add in the scenery, clubhouse, and practise facilities, and you should really enjoy the experience. Just don't expect a low score. (Round played: Jun 2014 - Score: 101 Handicap: 17.4)
