Good drainage

Best drainage course I've played. No mud in mid winter. Good pace, well kept greens and good fairways

Thanks Calvin, we are very lucky to be built on gravel and very rarely move to temporary green unless major work is taking place. Its great being able to use a trolley and buggy during the winter and having little mud on your trousers if any! Take a look at our flexible memberships, it's the best way to join us. Hope to see you again soon.

Thanks for your feedback Calvin, Get Golfing have invested heavily the course since taking over 2 years ago, with new greens drainage and installing fairway irrigation, the results are clear when you get out and play the course, any time of the year.

Great natural drainage & improving course. Bunker renovation underway and course conditioning continues to improve. It'll never be the most inspiring layout but it's doing all the right things to reach it's potential I think. Very good place to play when it's wet elsewhere.

Hi Richard, great to hear you can see the improvements of last 2 years work, with the new riveted bunkers being installed across the course with modern carry distances in mind, it will soon be a challenge for all levels of golfer.

Flat but difficult due to wind

It was in great nick with rees running true and quite fast. Shame about damage done to 1st hole but looks like tha should be back to full length in a week or two. Open course with soem trees but doesn't stop a strong breeze playing havoc

Hi Marek, I believe you played the course whilst the bunkers on the first were being bedded in and had some restrictions, all is back in play now. The wind does often significantly change the challenge of the course depending on whether you have the wind in your favour.

the fairways and greens are some of the best, well drained and very forgiving when mishit, but slow play means you can be on the course for 6+ hours which means I avoid at busy times.

Course in great shape.
Temporary greens on the 1st and 18th whilst bunker repositioning and reconstruction works are in progress.

Links course inland.

Lovely course which plays like an inland links course. Real nature covers the 18 holes with Deers roaming and Crows trying to steal your ball and in fact I had won picked up by a crow while the ball was on the green. Great condition in the winter.

Hadn't been here for some time. New clubhouse with nice facilities and good food. Course was in good conditions and greens were comparatively soft so would take a decent iron into them. Usual rough off the fairways which makes it tricky if you go offline. Well worth a visit.

Pretty good nick

Nice course be straight or you will struggle ie the rough is brutal, club house is nice staff friendly if I had a gripe it would be if your a big society or group toilet space is limited, and no pro shop, lovely surroundings-bunkers need soughting,we where told there going to address them during the winter.

Steadily improving

Getting better with every visit. It's interesting to see what can be done with some investment in a course, and there appears to be more to come. I understand further fairway irrigation will be installed this winter and a bunker renovation undertaken too. In the meantime, the fairways are thicker and grassier than I've seen them here, not quite there yet but on the mend for sure. And the greens have improved too. Again, they can still get better but now in a good place and rolling nicely. Look forward to returning again and seeing the evolution of this course local to me.

Little gem

Very nice course and facilities. Had not been thee for a while but you can see that money has been spent and the course is a little gem. Firm hard greens and punishing rough.
Nice bar and food with friendly staff and club members.

Slow and tough with too much rough

There appears to be a want to get as many people out on the course in 4 balls searching for wayward drives in the substantial amounts of deep rough. A number of groups gave up after almost 3hr 9 holes, meaning my back nine quickened somewhat, still, I've played a few times recently and must be an almost 5 hour average for a round on the weekend. Nice club/course with putting green and chipping area, but to have no range balls available and no practice net to hit a few balls into isn't great.

Easy Walking Course

This course inside the palace grounds is an easy walking course despite some trees it is flat an uninteresting as if playing in a big field which of course you are.

Underwhelmed

The idea of playing in royal grounds is an exciting prospect, but that really was about it. Clubhouse was closed so check in was done at a mobile cafe. Course was very flat, with not an awful lot of challenging holes. Nice to see the deer wandering round and a good view of the palace from the 5th green, but I’m afraid that’s about all I will remember.

Interesting course, friendly members but slow

The course is interesting, good layout and in fair condition. Friendly and welcoming members. Unfortunately the pace of play is slow. Policy is for four balls only, and the even though I played on a Thursday, the course was full, and the pace was around 4.5 hours. Worth playing if you have the time. Also, overpriced for what it is, but probably due to proximity to the centre of London.
