Played in December 2009, The course was in great condition the greens were running at slightly varying pace, but to be expected with the rain we had that weekend. As the name would suggest "The Valleys" is a hard walking course. With 6 par 3's the course is short however doesn't lack interest or challenge. The fairways were in good condition and given we only paid £20.50 for the round it represented fantastic value. Well worth playing. A beautiful course. The 19th was well priced and the staff and dining memebers were more than welcoming.

A fairly quiet front 9 - pleasant but nor particularly memorable. Sandy soil so quite well drained after a spell of wet weather. Back 9 is much more interesting and varied with 3 long par 5s and 3 tricky par 3s. Lots of tree lined fairways in places - lots of well placed bunkers (Grr!) with an excellent 18th hole around a dog-leg elbow and down to a 2 tier green bounded by water on both sides and only a 8-10 yards wide safe corridor to get through onto it. Managed to get my lowest stableford score on here playing for the 1st time - so that gives you an idea of the challenge that lies ahead of you if you've not played here before.
The club is part of a (non-chain) hotel and leisure complex and has a reasonably stocked pro shop and very pleasant clubhouse/lounge bar/dining room which overlooks the 18th green.
Well worth a trip if you're within reach of the A1 in the South of Grantham area.

played on 28/11/11 with 5 mates on a golf break. £80 including dinner, bed and breakfast and 2 rounds.
The courses were in great condition, only 4 tee mats in use. greens were good and plenty of water in play..........
My only criticism was lack of signs in some places. As we had not played there before there was a couple of occasions where we were walking around aimlessly trying to find the next tee!!
The dinner was excellent, i'd recommend the mixed grill to anyone!
For £80 the value for money is brilliant, definately would recommend.

Course still in good condition, especially the greens, lots of trees here so if your a little wayward you can struggle to find your ball under the leaves. But value for money excellent Coffee

Two eighteen hole courses to play here.
They have both got some very interesting and challenging holes on them.
It feels quite rewarding if you come of with a good card here and it is possible on a good day.
Worth a visit if you enjoy playing different courses.

Played 2-4-1 at both Lakes and Valley cost £28 inc. Cart. Course set up is excellent although the weaher has taken it's toll on the fairways. Greens are superb. Excellent FVM and will be playing here again.

The Crown Golf society had its first event of 2010 here March 27th. We played the Valley Course, which although short on yardage, with the prevailing wind was a tough old round. Fantastically designed holes, somewhat breathtaking in a beautiful surrounding. Twenty blokes had a cracking day & we were all warmly welomed. Food was great too which wasn't on the plate for long! Highly recomended venue which needs a lot of thought & planning for each shot.

HAD A GREAT DAY
PLAYED ON 13 TH AUG. ON THE LAKES COURSE ALL GOOD GOT 42 POINTS BEST THIS YEAR. THE RAIN STOPED US PLAYING THE VALLEY COURSE , WELL PLAY IT AT A LATTER DATE. ? WHY IS IT CALLED THE LAKES ONLY HAD ONE BIG POND AT THE END AND ANOTHER AT THE 10th, HARD HOLE.

2 very different courses at this venue, a Stroke saver is recommended for the Valley course as placement is a big factor on it. 6 par 3's on the Valley course too, don't be thinking they'll be boring tho, every one of the par 3's is set in a lovely location making them a joy to play. Pick of them is the 3rd! The 17th gets a mention from me too, as a great hole.
Not a great deal of water despite the name on the Lakes course, straight off the tee is the key as fairway bunkers will come into play, some long par 5's and a tough finishing hole can wreck a good score card.
I'd recommended a buggy for both courses.
Greens, fairways are always in top notch condition, club house and food really good too.
They take 2-4-1's which makes it a bargain on a day ticket at £25.50ea!!

Very Nice Location.
I played the Lakes Course which is a nice course with some tricky areas.
I was expecting more Water hazards (Not that I'm complaining as I always seem to find it!!)
Food was very nice afterwards and it was a very welcoming team of staff.
