Set in the Welland Valley with spectacular views over the surrounding picturesque countryside. The course is 18 holes par 71 of 6175 yards. Water can come into play on nine of the holes but especially so on the 9th, 10th & 11th, which must be tamed, then a good score is a distinct possibility. Good drainage ensures that the course is playable all year round on the main greens although some temporary tees may be used in the winter months.

Location: From the East: A14 to the B669 Junction. Follow B669 through Rothwell and then through Desborough. On leaving Desborough turn right on to B669 signed Stoke Albany 2½ miles. Follow road into Stoke Albany Village until reaching a crossroads (White Horse Pub on the left). Go straight over the staggered junction and follow road out of village. Golf Course is located on the left approx. 400 yards past last house on the left, on the Ashley Road. From the West: A14 to the A6 junction. Head towards Leicester until you see the sign for Desborough B576. Turn right at the roundabout and go towards Desborough. At the Travel lodge turn left, signed Stoke Albany 2¾ miles, and follow this road to Stoke Albany village. On reaching the crossroads in Stoke Albany (White Horse Pub on the left). Go straight over the staggered crossroads and follow road out of village. Golf Course is located on the left approx. 400 yards past last house on the Ashley Road. From Market Harborough: EITHER - A6 to just before Desborough, then turn left on to B576. Then follow instructions above as from the West above. OR - A427 through Dingley and Brampton Ash. Look for slip road on left to Stoke Albany and follow road down the incline . Turn left opposite the White Horse Public House and proceed out of the village and Golf Club is ½ mile on the left past the last house on the left on the Ashley Road. From Corby: A427 towards Market Harborough. Take sign to Wilbarston and Stoke Albany off right of A427. Proceed through Wilbarston towards Stoke Albany. Take the turn to Ashley and follow road out of the Village. Golf Club is ½ mile out of the village on left.

Open Course with Greens and Fairways in good condition all year round. Watch out for the Goose Poo and Bunkers with cloggy sand however.
10th and 11th catch many people out with water to the left and OOB to the right. High Handicappers might be wise to stay safe and leave the Driver in the bag for these two.

Apart from the greens being on the poor side, but i'm sure this is due to harsh winter and trying to get them in shape for summer. I felt this course had a lot of potential and was a most enjoyable round.

Tight Back 9
The front 9 holes are good for confidence - but dont be fooled the back 9 are the testing holes with 3 longs holes with narrow fairways and out of bounds all the way down the right.
Excellent greens for time of year, clubhouse undergoing re-furb so poor score given.

Only played this course once, a very open almost links style course. On the day I played it was Golfshake event day, so as usual the banter was good. It's a bit out the way, locked away in the deepest countryside, over all enjoyed it as I do with all courses I get to play.
The 10th and 11th are certainly card wreckers.

Caterers and catering arrangements at Golf Clubs often change. But to visit a club that now has NO caterers is a new depth. To add insult the sparse bar charges London prices. Check before you visit.

Nice golf course with some interesting holes. The greens are guarded by bunkers and you have to play full shots to the greens. The staff are very friendly and we was made very welcome,
