Courses are good but would not stay here again......hotel and staff think they are better than they actually are

Disappointed
Looks impressive on arrival. Main hotel great and rooms superb lounge and bar did feel like waiting in an airport. Meals were good quality but lack of choice. Played both course. First day championship east. Thought condition of fairways and greens very poor. We were told to play pick and place. Off white tees not really that difficult. Expected more. Second day played west course. Far superior and a lot harder. Course in better nick but not perfect. Greens not very slick. Really need to play this 18 couple times. Course management vital playing these holes. Due to COVID bunkers were poor and some were GUR. East Sussex has a good reputation so I expected higher standards so overall disappointedReviewer Rating

Always a challenge
Played the West Course which, as ever, was in good condition. Don't stray from the fairway or semi, as you will have a lost ball. No chance of finding it in 3 minutes.Reviewer Rating

We played sun 7th april and the greens on both courses are very scrabby....and the fairways pretty poor as well. sad as its been let go from when we played it a couple of years ago ...the east course is extremely boring. the west is a lot more fun and great holes in fairness but conditioning is not good. i play a lot in sussex and its been a hard winter for lots of courses but most are better looked after and turning good now this is not the case here. pro shop has great stock .Reviewer Rating

Course is in very good condition following the bad weather. The greens were running true and were quick for winter.

Just a stunning course, can't say much more than that. Could have done with a few marshals as round was slow - tee times doubled up on.

Very nice courses, East & West. Can play very long off the back tees. If you enter the rough play another ball as you will be lucky to find the first one.

As only played this course twice there isn't much I can say. I cam here for my first lads golfing break. I had an amazing time the hotel complex is very nice and the rooms too. As far as the golf course and facilities are concerned they are top draw. The shop has everything you would ever need for your time there.
The staff especially the ones who looked after you with your clubs and buggies were especially friendly and very professional, you just left everything with them and they got everything ready for you before and after the round. Even though I am an high handicapper this service made even me feel special and thoroughly relaxed to just go out and play and enjoy.

Lovely course in good condition. The greens were slower than expected but the course was beautifully set up. We spent the whole day and had breakfast and lunch - all speedy service and good value. This is a must play course but i do suggest taking a buggy as it can play long.

Love course, excellent greens and fairways, great club house and facilities plus service.
Pricey but worth it.
Well worth the treat to yourself.

West course is Superb. The greens here are the best, although very difficult to judge. Well done the green keepers.
