one of the best courses ive played in sussex both east and west very testing, i think it wont be long before some European events will take place here again only draw back out in the sticks if you stay and wont night life,

Six hour rounds!
Two rounds of golf that took nearly 6 Hours each! This spolit our visit.* Something is wrong with booking admin, when it allows multiple, 4-ball, groups of geriatric, very high handicap 'golfers' to tee-off in consecutive groups in the middle of the day, thus grinding play to a virtual halt
* There are marshalls, but no attempt made to manage the logjam by touring the course by buggy and intervening
* Why is it not possible to allocate slow moving high handicap groups the post 3pm twilight tee times?

Superb location
Excellent venue, superb setting and very friendly staff.The only downside for us was the cost of the drinks in the bar, they were very expensive.

West Course in the winter
Had a 4 ball voucher valid until the end of Oct 2023 which the Pro was not prepared to extend until Spring 2024 so I could use a buggy on the fairways, rather than using the paths; I can’t walk far these days.Reviewer Rating

Unfortunately, at present it is extremely wet and muddy, however, greens are still really good under the circumstances, and the fairways are holding up reasonably considering the amount of rain we have received.

The greens on the East Course was very bumpy and still had sand on them from the maintenance week earlier in the month, everything else was what you expected from this venue but the greens on trhe East was terrible the West course greens was much more playable.

West course
Lovely course not stupid long off either blue or white tees. Some very picturesque vistas and challenging tee shots but usually a safer bale out either left or right. Good clubhouse facilities with changing room, bar, well stocked pro shop(bit pricey though) and a restaurant which does a nice breakfast .Also if you turn up early the practice options are very good, driving range and both chipping and putting green.

Undulating Course
In really good condition. Excellent greens, which take a bit of reading.Staff in the caddy office were really helpful. Definitely be back for a round

East Course
Course in good condition, greens running quickly and true. Recent rain has helped with ball control, so not so difficult to hold the greens. Finding pitch marks was difficult though.Reviewer Rating
