Very wet- There had been a lot of rain, but the drainage work done over the last few years hasn't really worked.

Despite there being little rain in the last month, the course was extremely boggy. The greens, however were very good and true. There are some testing holes, the first, thirteenth and sixteenth requiring accuracy off the tee. The par 4 fifteenth is a great hole! Disappointed to find that the compressed air guns were out of action and the ball washers are in need of an upgrade.

This course is always muddy when wet and today was no exception. A real shame as the course was very tidy, they have obviously been doing some work on the course since my last visit. The greens were particularly good I thought. Alas 18 mats on the tees earns a mark down.

This is a very pretty Downland course with extensive views.
Fairways are largely open and quite wide but with interesting features. Course management and condition is better than ever this year.
Course is well suited to higher handicap and a good scoring opportunity for better golfers.
Professional Richard is excellent. Very good pro shop.
Super terrace overlooking first tee with extensive views.

This course is in a very good condition although some of the greens were a bit bumpy, Overall the course is well tended and the staff helpful giving a pleasant day and experience well done

A shortish course, but a nice layout in a very pleasant wooded setting in lovely Sussex countryside. Tight enough to give a bit of challenge, greens are fairly flat and straightforward, and in nice condition this year - 2009. The holes have plenty of variety in layout, and the dog-legs compensate for the shortness of some of the holes. Nice in spring, summer and autumn, not so great in the winter. The SSS and stroke indexes have been revised recently to be more realistic. For example the SSS off the Yellow tees is now 65 ... it's no longer easy to hit handicap, and 42+ points is not going to be quite so commonplace. It's a decent challenge off the white tees. I would recommend it for societies who have some 20+ handicappers who will get a warm feeling out of a reasonable points tally. (P.S. This is an independent review as I'm a member at another club, but play it regularly because it is very enjoyable to play for the reasons above, and compared to most clubs it is quite cheap.)

Potentially a great short course. Great lay out and some nice holes but the upkeep doesnt seem to be tip top, long rough, ropey greens. Not good in winter and suffers badly when wet. Par 3 finish is an anti climax also.
A good summer morning out though.

Not a bad course but because the owners don't really care about golfers the course isn't as well kept as it should be, the rough is usally too long and the fairways dont drain as well as they should. Due to the fact they don't really look after their golfers as well as they should and only seem to care about functions I've had to mark them down on overall rating, shame really coz it could be a much better course.
