Much much improved

Considering the rain we have had,you can really see the hard work that has been put in with drainage on the front nine holes, hopefully the back nine will be done soon also and this really could be a great course all year round, green tan true and faster than expected,we played the front 9 twice as the back 9 hasn’t had drainage work done (yet I hope)
Almost all fairways we’re in really good condition with bounce and roll from the driver ,greens were firm and in very good condition ,such a big change from a few years ago!
So much so I will probably be joining as a member

Good variety of holes and mix of difficulty. Drainage has been improved in last year. Green are in great condition. Car park is large. Nicely stocked bar with friendly staff. Food available. Friendly pro shop and staff. Golf range to the side of the clubhouse. Practise putting green too. A friendly welcoming club that is excellent value for money.

Good course always in good condition, suitable for all levels though does penalise errant tee shots as tree lined and not clear in trees so almost certain lost ball.

Good society day out, course in decent condition apart from a shame about the apron on all the greens, blighted maybe? let the course down from being a 9 to a 6

Best in Summer

Course is in reasonable condition for the time of year, a lot of work appears to have been done on the drainage. Greens in good condition, if a little slow. Good value for money, and a great course to build your game on. Clubhouse good and nice outside seating area to take the last of the afternoon sunshine.

Playing in a fourball took 2hours 10 minutes to play nine holes, this was to slow for the Pro. Will not return there.

Always nice to go to a golf course with a driving range. The course can be quite challenging if you have a wayward driver. Some fairly narrow fairways (for me anyway) with out of bounds markers makes your accuracy count. It can be quite muddy if it rains but the greens are fairly firm .Reasonable value at ?25 a round.Good to see the bunkers being repaired as a lot were marked off. Will definitely go back for another round????

Dreadful

As a greenkeeper myself I like to go out and play the other courses local to me. Me and my father played a couple years ago and what can I say it was in a right state back then so we fancied giving it another go…

Well first thing we noticed the holes clearly hadn’t been changed for over a week as you could see the wear around the pin but out that aside if you actually manage to put across it because they were so slow you’d be better using your driver to put with
Second thing the tees were incredibly unlevel there wasn’t a single flat spot to play your shot off of.
There’s uncapped drainage lines
Some of the bunkers have shuttering round the edges that has rotten away and just looks atrocious yet alone god save you if your ball lands against it. The ‘greenkeepers’ have sprayed weed killer round the bunker edges which has killed the grass
There were grass clippings left all over the tees
None of the ball washers had water in them
The buggy that we were given was covered in mud inside and out
Bunkers hardly had any sand in any of them
Just overall a course that has been very poorly maintained even if you have ‘budget’ issues you still present the course to a standard you’re happy with and that paying customers should be happy with as a greenkeeper myself it is incredibly embarrassing that a place like this even exists.
