Very disappointing
The course is one we generally love to go to but since our last visit about 3 months ago the deterioration is marked. The greens look as if they have been scraped with a digger and are heavily sanded which in no way is sufficient to fill the ruts and lack of grass. Three greens were so bad they had been taken out of play altogether and replaced by temporary greens. Some of the tees appear to have been almost completely dug up by rabbits, the fairways simply reflect the dry summer we have had but our biggest problem was that our foursome collectively lost 16 balls, four from poor shots but the rest finished under the leaves that had fallen all over the course and we just couldn't find them even on the fairways. We will not be returning in a hurry. To be a little fairer the golf was only ?12 each which is somewhat cheaper than usual.Reviewer Rating

Do NOT waste your time and money!
Played this course today. It was AWFUL. I've never played a course with such poor groundsmanship. The greens were terrible, treated with sand. Could not putt properly. Fairways were too long and therefore held all of the leaves falling off the trees. The ground staff were constantly messing about in front of us ( I know we should let them work, but all one was doing was churning up leaves). The bunkers have very little decent sand in them. The tees were chewed up. It was worse than just after the hot conditions. I don't know why they did not water the greens in the summer, the place is surrounded by water! I will not be playin this course ever again.Reviewer Rating

worst course i have played
The greens are in terrible condition. Don't think they have maintained them at all this year and if they have they need to sack the green keepers.Played for 18 years and have never seen greens like this and they still want to charge £16 of a weekend. Wouldn't look at this course until after Christmas.(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 14.5)

Greens are hard work
Visited Brandon Wood golf course, cost ?18pp. Pro-shop incorporated with the club house, nice friendly welcome - access to facilities here too. Played the course in the middle of the long hot summer, a good challenge throughout but a few points worth noting - a lack of Red/Yellow or White stakes can make the course a challenge to judge penalties. The greens were terrible, some had been tined but cracks had developed and it was very hard to putt - desperately in need to water and some TLC - i am aware that this is a municipal course but that said the greens should be in good condition. Drinks and snacks available at the clubhouse an enjoyable day except for the greens.Reviewer Rating
