Chilworth Golf Club
Main Road, Chilworth, Southampton, Hampshire, SO16 7JP United Kingdom
Chilworth Golf Club is situated on the outskirts of Southampton amongst rolling farmland and forestry. In 1994 the back nine was opened for play, and although slightly shorter than the front nine which was built in 1998, many golfers find it equally as challenging. The course can be either played as a full eighteen, or as separate nines at a reduced rate for when time is limited.Book a Tee Time

As said before, the course has a long front nine, with a shorter back nine. This due to the course originally been nine hole with the front nine added later. 3 holes on the first nine feature water hazards. The sattelite view shown on Google maps, as used by most GPS trackers shows the course from a good few years ago and it has matured

They tend to overload the tee times here, so be prepared for a long wait on the 1st tee on occasion!!!

the green do not hold a ball and the rough needs cutting. its a wide course but if you go left or right - good bye ball

Played this Course yesterday for the first time, Good course, expect for the weather! Only one major drawback that limited the experience was the lack of signage. For someone using the course for the first time this was a little disappointing, wondering around looking for the next tee. Seemed to spend more time looking for tees than actually playing! Maybe a map on the back of the scorecard would help!

Excellent golf course, well presented with good facilities. Only course open during the snow this week as the groundstaff cleared all the snow from greens!!

Really good track, friendly staff, greens improving and at £16 quid at weekends brilliant value. Only downside is the number of slow players, despite having a starter chappie.

Provides an enjoyable game of golf for mid to high handicappers.
Usually in good condition, however, some areas can be a bit soft underfoot.
Small clubhouse includes an excellent Chinese restaurant.

Great course, enjoyed playing it but disapointed with the 2hrs 15 mins to do front 9 rule considering it took me 3hrs to do it on my own due to slow play and not being allowed to play through, ended up playing with the two guy's that were behind me coz I was so bored. But on a lighter note very much enjoyed the course itself, quite a few challenging holes which is what you want when your trying to get better, can't comment on the facillities apart from the driving range which was very good and the pro shop which is well stocked.

Good course for the money. Very distinct front and back nines (the front being longer and arguably more interesting, the back far shorter), not massively challenging but the rough can cause it's share of problems. Real shame about the hideous power lines that feature across much of the back nine which tend to spoil what is otherwise a fairly picturesque course.

The course is kept in good condition by friendly green staff, during the winter months the mats weren't used that often. The only thing missing is a practice green, there is one under construction but its location is by the first tee? which if you know the course then you will know it is a 5 min walk from the club house.
The addition of a chinese resturant & bar during the renovation is excellent.
The course has 3 well positioned water hazards it is also open & hilly so the wind is always a factor even on what seems a still summers day.

Haven't been playing that long, but Chilworth is my home course, it's got a bit of everything and is really looking good for the rest of the year. Watch the rough though, once you're in it, which i frequently am, you may aswell take a drop with a new ball.

A friendly club which is very reasonably priced. A great deal of errort recently to upgrade the course. Fairways and greens kept well but the rough is very long at the moment!

this course is good for the beginner IMHO. the course is of 2 different 9's as the front 9 are much longer than the back 9.
just watch out for the rough as it is not easy to find any wayward balls

Cheap days golf at Chilworth, charging £15.00 for 18 holes at the weekend is a bargain. Course has been maintained to a good standard but could be better. No course books make it difficult to play for the 1st timer, lots of lost shots due to poor hole knowledge and signing. Staff need to take more seriously their image to their customers, slow play is not tolerated and 105 mins allowance to complete the first nine, regardless of how many is playing and to what standard is a ludicrous rule for many that have no course or hole knowledge. This rule means that the course marshall can either dock you holes or remove you from the course without refund, customer saisfaction, forget it.
