Wooley greens and lack of attention to detail i.e. bad drainage at various low points (after a very dry March 2011 and after a week of warm weather in Mar/Apr 2011); tees are average and the feeling overall was of a potentially good course that lacks attention to detail. It's the detail that needs addressing if it's going to be a good course. At £25 for a weeekend round it is expensive compared to competitor courses in Hampshire.....Goodwood and Chichester courses more interesting; better value and in better condition.

Good practice course, will play again soon. However drainage could be looked at.

Always a good workout, tho always very wet when it is wet. Usually wet when it isn't in some places... Good holes though that I've played since I was a kid when it was really rough. My son is enjoying it now.....

Great value and the best municipal course i have ever played. its a great test with long par 4's. a true parkland course with shape and hills... and at 14:00 a round after 2.30pm its a must.

Played this course many many times, as its my local. As someone had previously posted, this course has the potential to be great. Long challenging par 4's a plenty. However, the drainage is terrible, usually temporary greens in winter, and poor VFM really at £25 for a weekend round. Pay £28 and go a couple of miles up the road to Paultons Golf Course....much better condition ALL year round

Played on a wet and windy day - Overall a nice course with a good selection of wholes - pretty muddy in places but the weather was pretty nasty. Will no doubt return in the near future. The 19th hole was just the same as when we played their 9 hole - lovely good value food

For a 9 hole golf course it was in good condition and fairly challenging. one of the main disappointments I found was the temporary green on hole 6, it was basically a hole cut out on top of the hill and the grass wasn't even cut.

Course was in good condition for the time of year and the amount of rain we have had, the greens where especially in good condition. Shame they dont have the pro shop open and a few of the holes required you to tee from a mat which isnt ideal.

was enjoying my round up until the 17th when 4 lads appeared shouting and laughing dressed in tracksuit bottoms and trainers tottally oblivious to anyone else. so much for the new dress code, take a closer look someone!!!!!!

played this course on 23/04/11 very nice course greens were some of the best ive played on, bunkers were ok plenty of sand, you need to be a long off the tee as some of the par 4s are like most clubs par 5s. if i was to be picky some of the tee boxs are a little uneven, but overall very nice will go back.

What more can be said. This is a real cheap course, Could do with some work in places. The club faclities are poor but would be good with modernisation. I really like this place a couple of the Par 4's on the back 9 are a real challenge. Just a pity that the lone Par 5 is the same lenght nearly as the 2 previous holes. Overall is an enjoyable challenge

This course has always been regarded as one of the best municipals in the country. I started playing here some 20 years ago and the return today, in perfect conditions, brought back fond memories - it also reminded me how much I have improved in that time despite the regular frustrations that we all suffer! Most holes are tree lined and straight but there are regular elevation changes to add variety. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent condition throughout (tees, fairways, greens, bunkers) which was much better than many more expensive courses that I have played this year. £17 green fee is super value even though the Clubhouse/changing rooms are basic to say the least. Recommended.

A course which has little in the way of threat to the mid handicap golfer, yet challenging enough for a good days golf. Greens were in very good condition.

Played the 18 hole course last Friday. First time in 8 years and it was just how i remembered it.The course is well set out and club house is quite nice looking down at the 18th an 9th hole.
The greens were not to bad, but the Tee's had seen better days. All in all a good course!!

Played 9 hole on 15th February 2010. We haven't had a lot of rain in the area but the drainage on the course was terrible, middle of the fairway, one inch of water. This was on every hole in at least one place. Greens were very poor, variably paced, bare in areas, lots of debris. I won't be back this winter/spring. NO PRO SHOP either.

A very good Muni course. I had forgotten how good it was having not played it for about 6 or 7 years until last Thursday. It was in great nick although the greens had a bit too much grass on them. And it only cost £12 too.
