Golf course review of Cannock Park Golf Club

A challenging and undulating course split in to 3 zones. Shrub lined gulleys criss-cross the couse and several mature trees hamper approaches to greens proving more of a hazard than the bunkers. Some good par 3's, but suffers from lack of par 5's. Greens well maintained and true. Good weekday rates, especially if light holds after 1pm tee off make this great value for money and an enjoyable experience. Cannock Council have a real gem on their hands here, and should preserve at all costs. If income became compromised then adjusting the course and adding a driving range should be considered, not selling for housing development.

A tough opening hole and suffers a little without having a par 5 on the course. However the course has its own unique charachter

Sometimes suffers from non payers with a couple of clubs playing odd holes especially on holes furthest from club house, but course is in very good condition.

very poor condition, greens are yellows patchy and muddy putting is a nightmare. fairways are very heavy too. no catering facilites either so couldnt get food or drink.

A reasonable municipal course that's good value for money. Quite well-kept but sometimes suffers from being open to local dog-walkers and other users of public footpaths. No dedicated clubhouse but nextdoor's leisure centre's facilities are available.

Not my favourite municipal course but a round there is always (well nearly always) enjoyable. Not a big course, 4810 yds off yellow, some interesting hazards in the form of ditches and small streams which always seem to get your ball. The final hole, a par 3 is testy, over water to a smallish green, if you have done well this little devil can ruin a good day. Greens sometimes not always good and we find holes 9 to 12 rather boring. On the whole, for a municipal not bad at all.

Several tough greens make up for lack of yardage, however longer hitters find themselfs with a driver and a wedge too often.
