Was a member as a kid and played it so much- still play a couple of times a year since moving away -time has seen the course blossom into a mature and established classic- trees frame all the fairways now and the turf quality is unrecognisable to my junior days- first class green complexes .\“The Park” ( holes 13,14,15) could be on Wentworth tbh and it’s a proper test of the backs of you can play a bit or fun off the yellows if you just like to play decent courses \Great crack in the Clubhouse ( with good bacon sarnies and proper coffee), great value and hospitable????????\The Clubhouse needs a makeover big time but is quirky, the Pro Shop resembles Fort Knox ! ????????????????\Please go there , play it for yourself and see - a gem of an off the beaten track, track ????????

Very long. Holes can seem a bit 'sameish'. There is a run of 4/5 holes at the far end of the course 13/14/15 which are very pleasant.

Good Beginner course. Very open. Allows for slight mistakes, looking forward to playing again soon. Disappointing that 2-4-1 vouchers can only be redeemed after certain times at weekends, nevermind.

It had been a few years since I had played this course until a recent visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find the course in such good nick, particularly the greens which were immaculate. I think it would be fair to say that this course has matured over the years from a reasonably basic course but was in the best shape I had ever seen it - credit I think to the work of the groundstaff there. Historic tree planting is now beginning to reap some benefit by 'tightening' a few of the holes in terms of your need for accuracy off the tee.

The highlight of the course is a triumvirate of holes (13 to 15) as you enter the mature parkland on the outskirts of Hartford Hall. However there are plenty of other tough holes to test your ability. One thing is for sure though - you will need your driver on this course as it is long but the big hitters will benefit from some Par 5s that are reachable in two, notably the two opening holes that can offer a decent start to your scoring.

Clubhouse has a fine position over the 18th Green - a long Par 5 and offers decent value.

A high membership means that getting on to the course can be an issue with limits in place at certain times for non members. One minor gripe was that I was asked to change my tailored shorts on my last visit as there were pockets on the outside?!! I have worn the same shorts at several courses of higher prestige and never been questioned before - something I was a little taken aback by - particularly as the club had never previously shown any inclination for snobbishness - one of my pet hates in golf.

With the exception of the heavy rough (which had a voracious appetite for stray golf balls) and the bunkers (which were a little short of sand) I thought the presentation and condition of the course was excellent throughout.

The course, generally, was first class. A great challenge of golf without being too onerous. Not much to quibble about, but the heavy rough was particularly punitive, some of the tee-boxes were a little chewed up and there were a few "pot-holes" on the paths. Not enough negatives to detract from a very enjoyable day.

Nice course

Course was in very good condition considering the heavy rain over the previous few days. Where other local course closed, Bedlington held together well and without any water issues throughout. Greens were a little slower due to this but otherwise very good! A nice challenge

Absolute gem

Excellent course, a challenge for all standards of golfer. Fairways run smooth, greens excellent. Rough is fair.
Only current down side, bunkers. Due to weather they were more yellow mud than sand, but thats the same on all courses at present.
Club house open. Didn't use, but people were enjoying a drink.
Not always the friendliest of clubs and always extremely busy, too busy at times.
Worth a try but be prepared for long walk, and waits.
