Surrey Downs Golf Club
Less than an hour from London you will find Surrey Downs Golf Club, set in the rolling Surrey Hills with spectacular views across The Downs. The former Ryder Cup and Tour Professional Peter Alliss was commissioned to design the course in keeping with the surroundings and he has produced a down land golf course which enhances the natural beauty of the hills.
The golf course is maintained to a very high standard with the greens being to USGA Specification. The down land setting normally provides a breeze which adds an alternative aspect to the challenging but very scenic rough with a particular feature being our large shared 9th and 18th green which is well protected by a large pond coming into play on both holes.
The course is challenging for golfers of all abilities with interestingly designed holes which require thought on course strategy over sheer length of hit and with this in mind it is a hugely enjoyable course which rewards good play. Contact Information

Great course which needs a bit of thinking to get round. In good condition. Could do will a couple more markers showing the way to the next tee but apart from that really good course. Staff in pro shop and bar very friendly.

The course is generally in very good nick although the bunkers do need work having too many stones and not enough sand in some. You have to plot your way around which I like. This is not a course for just teeing it up and whacking it. It is quite forgiving too although the rough is penal. The clubhouse is superb and the food is the best I've had at a golf club, likewise the service. There is a small pro shop and a grass bay driving range.

Very testing in the wind, rough is penal and rightly so to help protect the course when the wind doesn't blow.
Greens excellent - receptive, lightning fast and challenging.
A different challenge every time I play there.
Clubhouse modern but very confortable, staff couldn't be friendlier and super food.
Well worth a visit.

Quiet a short course, but with numerous semi-blind tee shots, deep heavy rough and undulating greens, it makes for a good challenge. The wind will always blow on top of the downs, so another factor to contend with.
Great modern clubhouse with friendly staff. The golf academy/range looks fantastic.
We paid £30 which was a bit steep. They accept 2-for-1 vouchers on Mondays only.

Lovely course, lovely people. Keep it tidy and you'll be rewarded; stray off line and there is always trouble awaiting. Keep out of the long rough - not even worth looking for your ball. Love the course and modern clubhouse.

Very nice course. Just hard to book tee times if not a member as you can only book 48hrs in advance. I always like playing here.

Been a member here for a few years, but just about to cancel.
Course is OK ish but the bunkers are embarrasing. There is no sand, plenty of water still in them, as soon as any rain hits, it stays in the bunkers. They have had to change 2 bunkers due to being washed away!!! My membership costs over £1200 pa and its worth about half that.The Course
