Aberdovey Golf Club
At 6,445 yards off the white tees, the course is not long by the standard of many newer courses. However, the real defences lie in the wind which is often a gentle zephyr but can be a stiff blow. For example, if playing 36 holes, the 193 yard par 3 5th hole could require a full hit with a driver in the morning and an 8 iron in the afternoon. Whatever the wind, it cannot spoil your enjoyment of the wonderful setting where the hills, with their colours shaded by bracken, gorse or heather reach down to the very edges of the course and the buzzards, kites and seabirds wheel on the thermals. It was Bernard Darwin, the first literary giant of the game who returned here regularly, who wrote "Aberdovey is the course that my soul loves best of all the courses in the world"; one can understand why.

A superb layout by the sea. First hole is massive par 4 playing into the wind, some fantastic challenging holes and great views over the sea and down the estuary. A must play course, thoroughly enjoyable.

ive played this course several times over the last 2 years as my parents have a caravan in near by tywyn, amazing and different every time.
The course seems to keep itsself as you never see a green keeper, and what an amazing job it does aswell.
The prices are very fair for the golf thats experienced, linx golf is a different game and one to be experianced by all golfers.
Green are fast and pin positions tricky, 12 par 3 is my favourate anything from sand iron to 3 wood depending on wind and tee.The Course

Played here on 30 August 2009 and what a rustic links course this is, the greens were superb and the natural bunkers added to the experience. Holes 1 and 2 present a very tough opening pair of holes requiring guile off the tee if you are to hit the green in regulation. All of the par-3s are testing and different, with a blind tee-shot on the 3rd, the 200-yard 5th againsta cross-wind, the 150-yard 9th with a green 41 yards deep, the quirky, and finally the difficult 150-yard 12th where the green is virtually on the beech.
Also the off-course side was excellent, a nice club house very friendly staff who can't do enough for you, and the Dormie Bungalow by the 18th green was quite superb. I would recommend this course to anyone who fancies playing a toughish pure links course, will definitely be playing this course again. The Course

hmmm what can i say? typical links course, interesting holes out and back. greens werent brilliant when we played in september and we had to carry a small bag of seeded sand around to fill in any divots as fairways were in a sorry state . clubhouse was excellent but at £45 i thought was over the top though i guess typical for links courses everywhere. Oh, nearly forgot to mention the added hazard of the herd of cows on the fairways!!!!
